 本発明は、通信可能な携帯電子機器に関する。
 携帯電子機器には、複数の通信方式により通信を行うものがある(例えば、特許文献1を参照)。

 アクセスポイント通信部13は、アンテナと、RF回路部とを備える。アクセスポイント通信部13は、通信部又は狭域無線通信部でもある。アクセスポイント通信部13は、無線LANシステムによる通信を可能とする。アクセスポイント通信部13は、アクセスポイント(無線LANアクセスポイント)を介して他の携帯電話機などと通信を行う。アクセスポイント通信部13の無線LANシステムによる通信は、比較的限定されたエリア内で通信を行うものである。アクセスポイント通信部13による電波の送受信が可能な範囲は、後述する基地局通信部14による電波の送受信が可能な範囲より狭い。1つのアクセスポイントのカバレッジエリアは、半径が50~100m程度である。なお、本実施形態のアクセスポイント通信部13は、無線LANシステムである、IEEE802.11に準拠している無線通信システム、例えば、WiFi(登録商標)の無線通信システムによる通信を可能とする。
 基地局通信部14は、アンテナと、RF回路部とを備える。基地局通信部14は、2G、3G、4G等のセルラーフォンの通信規格による通信を可能とする。基地局通信部14は、基地局を介して他の携帯電話機などと通信を行う。1つの基地局のカバレッジエリアは、半径が2km程度である。基地局通信部14による通信の通信速度(伝送速度)は、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信の通信速度より低速の場合がある。
 加速度センサ15は、携帯電話機1に働く加速度の方向及び大きさを検出する。加速度センサ15は、検出結果を制御部17に出力する。本実施形態の加速度センサ15は、X軸方向、Y軸方向及びZ軸方向の加速度を検出する3G(3次元)タイプである。
 加速度センサ15は、例えば、ピエゾ抵抗型、静電容量型、圧電素子(圧電式)、熱検知型によるMEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical Systems)式、可動コイルを動かしてフィードバック電流によってもとに戻すサーボ式、又は加速度によって生じる歪を歪ゲージによって測定する歪ゲージ式等により構成のものを採用してもよい。
 記憶部16は、制御部17による演算処理に利用される。記憶部16は、例えば、メモリ等によって構成される。記憶部16は、携帯電話機1の内部で動作するアプリケーションを1又は複数記憶する。記憶部16は、着脱可能な外部メモリを兼ねていてもよい。記憶部16は、後述する停止状態から歩行状態に遷移したか否か判定するために利用する第1歩数を記憶する。記憶部16は、第1歩数として、例えば10歩を記憶する。記憶部16は、後述するアクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をOFFにするために利用する第2歩数を記憶する。第2歩数は第1歩数より歩数が多くなるように設定される。記憶部16は、第2歩数として、例えば50歩を記憶する。第1歩数及び第2歩数の歩数は、ユーザによって変更可能であってもよい。記憶部16は、加速度センサ15によって検出される加速度に基づき検出される歩数の合計を記憶する。記憶部16は、携帯電話機1の状態を判定するために利用される歩行判定パターンを記憶する。歩行判定パターンとは、携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いた際に検出される加速度パターンの基準となるものである。
 制御部17は、携帯電話機1の全体を制御する。制御部17は、例えば、中央処理装置(CPU)等を用いて構成される。
 制御部17は、加速度センサ15によって検出される加速度に基づき、携帯電話機1の状態を判定する。制御部17は、携帯電話機1の状態を判別するにあたり、記憶部16に記憶されている歩行判定パターンを用いる。
 制御部17は、加速度センサ15によって検出される加速度と、歩行判定パターンとの比較を行う。制御部17は、加速度センサ15により検出される加速度パターンと歩行判定パターンとの誤差が所定の範囲内であると判定した場合に、携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いたと判定する。制御部17が携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いたと判定した後、制御部17は引き続き加速度センサ15によって検出される加速度と、歩行判定パターンとの比較を行う。つまり、制御部17は、ユーザが1歩歩いたか否かの判定を繰り返す。制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いたと判定した後、所定時間以内に加速度センサ15によって検出される加速度と、歩行判定パターンとの誤差が所定の範囲内であると判定した場合には、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いたと判定する。
 本実施形態において、制御部17は、上述した検出処理を繰り返し、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いた歩数を検出する。制御部17は、ユーザが連続して歩いたと検出した歩数が記憶部16に記憶されている第1歩数(10歩)に達すると、携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移したと判定する。制御部17は、携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移したと判定した場合、記憶部16に記憶される歩数の合計に第1歩数(10歩)を加算する。制御部17は、携帯電話機1の状態が歩行状態である場合に、携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いたと判定するごとに、記憶部16に記憶される歩数の合計に1歩を加算する。
 制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いた歩数が記憶部16に記憶されている第1歩数(10歩)に達する前は、携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態であると判定する。制御部17は、携帯電話機1の状態が歩行状態である場合に、所定時間以内に加速度センサ15によって検出される加速度と、歩行判定パターンとの誤差が所定の範囲外であるとの判定が、携帯電話機1のユーザが最後に歩いたと判定してから所定時間継続した場合には、携帯電話機1の状態が歩行状態から停止状態に遷移したと判定する。
 制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いたと検出した歩数が記憶部16に記憶されている第1歩数(10歩)に達しなかった場合、記憶部16に記憶されている歩数の合計に歩いた歩数を加算しない。このように処理することにより、記憶部16に記憶されている歩数の合計が、携帯電話機1のユーザによる歩行とは異なる動きによって増えるおそれを低減することができる。
 なお、歩行状態とは、例えば、携帯電話機1のユーザの歩行に従って、記憶部16に記憶されている歩数の合計が加算される状態である。この歩行状態では、例えば、表示部11に歩数の合計が表示されている場合、携帯電話機1のユーザの歩行に従って、歩数の合計に新たに検出した歩数が加わっていくことが確認できる。
 つぎに、携帯電話機1の動作の流れについて、図2に示すフローチャートを参照しながら説明する。図2に示すフローチャートでは、携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態、例えば、携帯電話機1のユーザが移動せずに止まっている状態で処理を開始する。
 ステップST1において、制御部17は、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能がONになっているか否か判定する。ここで、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能がONになっている状態とは、アクセスポイント通信部13が通信を行うために動作している状態である。例えば、携帯電話機1のユーザは、操作部12を操作することにより、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をON又はOFFにすることができる。制御部17は、ステップST1にて、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能がONになっていないと判定した場合(ステップST1,No)、つまりアクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能がOFFになっている場合、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能がONになるまで、ステップST1の処理を繰り返す。
 ステップST1にて、制御部17がアクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能がONになっていると判定すると(ステップST1,Yes)、ステップST2に移項する。ステップST2にて、制御部17は、携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移したか否か判定する。制御部17は、加速度センサ15により検出される加速度と、歩行判定パターンとを比較して、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いた歩数を検出する。制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いた歩数が記憶部16に記憶されている第1歩数(10歩)に達した場合、携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移したと判定する。制御部17は、ステップST2にて携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移していないと判定した場合(ステップST2,No)、携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移するまでステップST2の処理を繰り返す。
 ステップST2にて、制御部17が携帯電話機1の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移したと判定した場合(ステップST2,Yes)、ステップST3に移項する。ステップST3にて、制御部17は、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をONのまま維持する。
 ステップST3の後、ステップST4にて、制御部17は、記憶部16に記憶される歩数の合計に第1歩数(10歩)を加算する。制御部17は、携帯電話機1の状態が歩行状態である場合に、携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いたと判定するごとに、記憶部16に記憶される歩数の合計に1歩を加算する。なお、ステップST2からステップST3に進むまでは、制御部17は、記憶部16に記憶される歩数の合計に第1歩数は加算しない。
 ステップST4の後、ステップST5にて、制御部17は、歩行状態から停止状態に遷移したか否か判定する。制御部17は、加速度センサ15によって検出される加速度と、歩行判定パターンとの誤差が所定の範囲外であるとの判定が、携帯電話機1のユーザが最後に歩いたと判定してから所定時間継続した場合には、携帯電話機1の状態が歩行状態から停止状態に遷移したと判定する。制御部17は、歩行状態から停止状態に遷移したと判定した場合(ステップST5,Yes)、ステップST2に移行する。制御部17は、歩行状態から停止状態に遷移していないと判定した場合(ステップST5,No)、ステップST6に移行する。
 ステップST6にて、制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いたと判定した歩数が記憶部16に記憶されている第2歩数(50歩)に達したか否か判定する。ステップST6にて、制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いたと判定した歩数が記憶部16に記憶されている第2歩数(50歩)に達していないと判定した場合(ステップST6,No)、ステップST4に移行する。ステップST6にて、制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが連続して歩いたと判定した歩数が記憶部16に記憶されている第2歩数(50歩)に達したと判定した場合(ステップST6,Yes)、ステップST7に移項する。ステップST7にて、制御部17は、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をOFFし、本フローを終了する。
 以上、本実施形態によれば、携帯電話機1は、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をONしている際に、加速度に基づいて検出される歩数が第1歩数に達することにより、停止状態から歩行状態に遷移した場合は、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をONのまま維持する。この携帯電話機1は、加速度に基づいて検出される歩数が第1歩数より多い第2歩数に達すると、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をOFFにする。
 携帯電話機1では、歩行状態に遷移しただけでは通信機能をOFFにせず、歩行状態に遷移したのち、更に歩行することにより通信機能をOFFにする。携帯電話機1では、停止状態から歩行状態に遷移する第1歩数と、通信機能をOFFにする第2歩数とが独立している。携帯電話機1では、ユーザの実際の状態と携帯電子機器により判定された状態とが異なっている状態が長期化するおそれを低減することができる。携帯電話機1では、少しの歩行で歩行状態に遷移し通信機能がOFFになってしまうといったおそれを低減することができる。
 以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明は前述した実施形態に限るものではない。また、本発明による効果は、前述の実施形態に記載されたものに限定されるものではない。
 上記の実施形態では、携帯電話機1が、加速度に基づいて検出された歩数が第1歩数より多い第2歩数に達すると、アクセスポイント通信部13による通信機能をOFFにする。携帯電話機1は、加速度に基づいて検出された歩数が第1歩数より多い第2歩数に達すると、アクセスポイント通信部13(狭域無線通信部)による通信から基地局通信部14(広域無線通信部)による通信に切り換えてもよい。
 携帯電話機1は、更に高度を検出する高度センサを備えて、携帯電話機1の高度を検出するようにしてもよい。高度センサは、例えば、気圧高度計又は電波高度計等によって構成される。携帯電話機1が高度センサを備える場合、高度センサにより検出される高度値が所定値以上変化した場合に、通信部による通信機能をOFFにする歩数を変更してもよい。高度センサにより検出される高度値が所定値以上変化した場合に、携帯電話機1は、第3歩数を基準とすることができる。第3歩数は、第1歩数よりも大きく、第2歩数よりも小さい。例えば、第3歩数は、第1歩数の10歩より大きく、第2歩数の50歩よりも小さい30歩に設定される。高度センサにより高度値の変化は、例えば、停止状態から歩行状態に遷移してから、または、停止状態において加速度センサ15により検出される加速度と、歩行判定パターンとに基づいて、携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いたと判定してからを基準とすることができる。携帯電話機1は、高度センサにより検出される高度値が所定値以上変化した場合に、アクセスポイント通信部13(狭域無線通信部)による通信から基地局通信部14(広域無線通信部)による通信に切り換えてもよい。
 携帯電話機1は、更に方位(向き)を検出する方位センサを備えてもよい。方位センサは、例えば、地磁気センサ又はジャイロセンサによって構成される。携帯電話機1が方位センサを備える場合、制御部17は、携帯電話機1のユーザが1歩歩いたと判定するごとに、方位センサにより方位を検出する。1歩を検出した際に検出した方位と、当該1歩とを対応付ける。例えば、方位を東西南北(360度)で4等分する場合、4等分した方位のうち該当する範囲の方位に検出した方位を対応付けてもよい。携帯電話機1は、通信部による通信機能をONしている際に、ユーザが連続して歩いた歩数のうち、いずれかの方位(範囲)に対応付けられた歩数が、所定歩数(例えば、10歩)に達すると、通信部による通信機能をOFFしてもよい。

Claims (6)

  1.  加速度を検出する加速度センサと、
     通信を行う通信部と、
     前記通信部による通信機能をONしている際に、
      前記加速度センサにより検出された加速度に基づく歩数が第1歩数に達することにより、自機器の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移した場合は、前記通信部による通信機能をONのまま維持し、
      前記加速度センサにより検出された加速度に基づく歩数が前記第1歩数より多い第2歩数に達すると、前記通信部による通信機能をOFFにする制御部と、
     を備える携帯電子機器。 
  2.  請求項1の携帯電子機器において、
     前記通信部は、アクセスポイントを介して通信を行うアクセスポイント通信部であって、
     前記携帯電子機器は更に、基地局を介して通信を行う基地局通信部を有し、
     前記制御部は、前記アクセスポイント通信部による通信機能をOFFにすると、前記アクセスポイント通信部による通信から前記基地局通信部による通信に切り換えるように制御する
     携帯電子機器。
  3.  請求項1の携帯電子機器において、
     前記通信部は、通信を行う狭域無線通信部であって、
     前記携帯電子機器は更に、通信を行う広域無線通信部を有し、
     前記狭域無線通信部による電波の送受信が可能な範囲は、前記広域無線通信部による電波の送受信が可能な範囲より狭く、
     前記制御部は、前記狭域無線通信部による通信機能をOFFにすると、前記狭域無線通信部による通信から前記広域無線通信部による通信に切り換えるように制御する
     携帯電子機器。
  4.  請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の携帯電子機器において、
     歩数の合計を記憶する記憶部を更に備え、
     前記制御部は、前記加速度センサにより検出された加速度に基づく歩数が前記第1歩数に達し、自機器の状態が停止状態から歩行状態に遷移した場合は、前記歩数を前記歩数の合計に加算し、
     前記加速度センサにより検出された加速度に基づく歩数が前記第1歩数に達しなかった場合は、前記歩数を前記歩数の合計に加算しない
     携帯電子機器。
  5.  請求項1の携帯電子機器において、
     高度を検出する高度センサを更に備え、
     前記制御部は、前記高度センサにより検出される高度値が所定値以上変化した場合、前記加速度センサにより検出された加速度に基づく歩数が前記第2歩数より少ない第3歩数に達すると、前記通信部による通信機能をOFFにする
     携帯電子機器。
  6.  加速度を検出する加速度センサと、
     方位を検出する方位センサと、
     通信を行う通信部と、
     前記方位センサにより検出される方位により、前記加速度センサにより検出された加速度に基づく歩数を前記方位ごとに対応付けを行う制御部と、を備え、
     前記制御部は、前記通信部による通信機能をONしている際に、前記方位ごとに対応付けられた歩数のうち、いずれかの方位に対応付けられた歩数が、所定歩数に達すると、前記通信部による通信機能をOFFする
     携帯電子機器。
