Abstract

This invention is related to transfer of electrical energy without wires in any transmission medium. A wireless electric power transfer system works by converting electrical energy to large wavelength photons such as microwave/radio-wave photons using a photon beam generator and directing the beam to a rectifier antenna array which reconverts the photons into electricity. The wireless electric power transfer system 1 is comprised of a photon beam generator 15, a source of electromagnetic waves 4 to pump the photon beam generator 15 and a rectifying antenna array 13 that captures and converts the generated photons into electricity. The photon beam generator 15 is further comprised of a cavity 3 that contains a medium of molecules 7 that have a dipole moment and are pumped to their higher rotational or vibrational or ro-vibrational energy levels. The de- excited molecules emit microwave/radio-wave photons out of the aperture 12 to form a photon beam 9 striking a rectifier antenna array 13 which converts the microwave/radio- wave photons into electricity.
