Abstract
A system for thermally working a workplace has a torch body (36) having a first axial end (30) positionable near the workpiece and a torch receptacle (40) coupled to a second axial end (42) of the torch body (36). A plurality of ports (50) extend axially through the torch receptacle (40) from a first axial end (46) of the torch receptacle (40) to a second axial end (48) of the torch receptacle (40). A plurality of fittings (52) are provided at the second axial end (42) of the torch body (36) for communication with a subset of the plurality of ports (50). The torch body (36) comprises one of a plasma torch body and an oxy-fuel torch body that is exchangeably coupled to the torch receptacle (40). The subset of the plurality of ports (50) is a plasma subset when the plasma torch body is coupled to the torch receptacle (40) and an oxy-fuel subset when the oxy-fuel torch body is coupled to the torch receptacle (40).
