Abstract

The invention relates to a machining apparatus (10) for machining a workpiece by means of a machine tool (30) having at least one machining tool (40) for machining the workpiece, wherein the machining apparatus has: - a measuring device (45) for recording an actual contour (I) of the workpiece using a measuring device (45) and generating an actual data record (50) which represents the workpiece, wherein the actual contour (I) of the workpiece is recorded for the first time before the workpiece is first machined, - a control device (11) for generating an execution machining program (53; 56) for controlling the machine tool (30) using the actual data record (50) and a default data record (51) provided for the purpose of machining the workpiece according to a desired contour (S), wherein the default data record (51) contains desired values which define the desired contour (S) of the workpiece and/or a default machining program (51) for machining the workpiece according to the desired contour (S), and - an actuating device which can be controlled by the control device (11) using the execution machining program (53; 56) and is intended to adjust the at least one machining tool (40) for machining the workpiece.
