Lorsqu'un patient a besoin de plusieurs solutions médicamenteuses pour une thérapie par perfusion, un infirmier connecte des connecteurs pénétrants (8) de l'appareil de changement de médicament (7) à des bouteilles de solution médicamenteuse (24). Lorsque la solution médicamenteuse de la première bouteille de solution médicamenteuse (24) est consommée, le patient ou une personne accompagnatrice fait tourner une roue manuelle (21) de la valve de changement de médicament (9) pour aligner son pointeur de bouteille de perfusion (22) sur une étiquette de bouteille de perfusion (23) lui correspondant, et utilise un orifice de guidage de solution (17) d'un noyau de valve rotative (12) pour connecter la solution médicamenteuse d'une bouteille de solution médicamenteuse (24) suivante à un appareil de perfusion de solution (1), ce qui résout le problème de la pénurie d'infirmiers.
