Description

DESCRIPTION
COMPOSITE JOINERY SYSTEM WITH LOCKING FEATURE Technical Field
The present invention relates to a composite joinery system developed for door and window systems used for insulating facades of buildings in the construction sector.
Prior Art
Today, door and window joinery profiles are used in the facade insulating systems of buildings in the construction sector. In the earlier stages, joinery profiles and systems were produced using monolithic materials according to the changing needs of people. Joinery profiles made of only wood, iron, aluminum and lastly of PVC material were being used. However, over time, people have embarked on a quest for different materials due to drawbacks of PVC windows. People want to use natural wood windows due to many advantages thereof, however, wood window joinery is not resistant against external weather conditions (such as rain-snow-sun- wind) and requires paint and care after a short period of time. In addition, over time, wood material starts to decay from outside, this situation, in turn, have led people to use artificial and petroleum derivative PVC windows by taking them away from natural and healthy wood material. However, this product is not wanted to be used anymore since interior space use thereof over time disturbs people.
Composite joinery profiles have been developed due to the failure of joinery profiles made of monolithic materials meeting the desired features and expectations. In these composite joinery profiles, generally, PVC or aluminum materials being resistant to external weather conditions and providing high thermal insulation form the outer surface thereof while wood materials being harmless to human health, having a breathing structure, desired aesthetic appearance and colors form the inner surface of the joinery system. PVC or aluminum materials are combined with wood materials in various ways and resistance of the joinery system against external influences is improved as well as application of the advantages of the wood material (aesthetic appearance, desired color, ventilation of the spaces) to interior spaces is provided. Support plates can be positioned on the inner portion of PVC or aluminum profiles in order to increase the strength of joinery system. A structure for such a composite profile system is disclosed in the patent application 2009/02793 registered to Turkish Patent Institute (TPE). This application relates to door and windows formed by combining PVC profiles and wood profiles to obtain frame profiles, wing profiles and/or mullion profiles. In the current state of the art, following steps are followed when wood profiles and PVC profiles are mounted to each other, wherein some disadvantages are encountered.
- Wood profiles are mounted on the PVC and aluminum profiles by being slided thereon.
After the wood profiles are mounted to the PVC and aluminum profiles, corners are joined and frame structure is obtained. Wood profile joints are provided with an angle of 45 degrees. Welding process is carried out during the production of wood profiles together with PVC or aluminum profiles, wherein many disadvantages are encountered. One of these disadvantages is the possibility of staining PVC or aluminum during the painting process of the wood.
In the current methods, wood materials having a greater wall thickness are used due to the structural difference of the tab systems employed for locking wood profiles to PVC and aluminum materials.
- As a result of forcing, there is the likelihood of wood material getting out of PVC or aluminum materials.
Wood patterning process is a process being carried out in a hot drum. However, PVC and wood materials combined before the patterning process cannot simultaneously enter into this process. This is because the PVC material deforms at these temperatures.
- More machinery is required due to processing and combining PVC or aluminum materials together with the wood material during the production stages. This situation adversely affects the process duration, mass production speed and production capacity. In the current method, frame-wing system should be completely replaced when wood profiles are required to be replaced due to aging or deformation thereof.
The utility model application 2010/04090 registered to TPE relates to an internally wood fitted thermal insulating aluminum door, window and facade system.
The patent application CN201723067 (U) relates to a composite door and window comprising PVC plastic and wood materials.
In conclusion, an improvement in the respective art is necessary due to the aforementioned drawbacks and insufficiency of the existing solutions in the field. Brief Description of the Invention
The present invention is developed by being inspired from the existing situations and seeks to solve the above mentioned drawbacks. The main object of the present invention is to develop a composite joinery system for door and window systems used for insulating facades of buildings in the construction sector. Another object of the present invention is to provide a better thermal insulation in buildings by means of fitting wood onto PVC or aluminum materials in the window systems and to provide durability, aesthetics and healthy living environment by means of using more natural materials.
The joinery system according to the present invention comprises a special composite structure formed by combining polymer PVC or aluminum materials against external weather conditions in the exterior space with real wood material providing aesthetics and naturalness in the interior space.
Differences between the composite joinery system according to the present invention and the old systems are listed below.
Wood material is fitted onto PVC or aluminum material by means of a locking method. Joining thereof is provided in this way.
PVC and aluminum materials are self joined. After completion of the entire operation, wood material is mounted afterwards to the PVC or aluminum materials by means of the locking structure. Joints thereof are provided with an angle of 90°.
- Wood profiles and PVC and aluminum profiles are separately produced and assembly thereof is performed afterwards. Thus, production restrictions are eliminated by eliminating the time losses, machinery section, deformation risks on the materials, etc. resulting from numerous processes being carried out simultaneously in the old systems.
Thickness of wood profile fitting onto the PVC and aluminum profiles is significantly reduced thanks to the new locking system.
Even in the case of forcing, there is no likelihood of wood material getting out of PVC or aluminum materials.
- Since assembly is carried out at the end of production process, patterning process can be applied on the wood profile.
Production can be provided with less number of machines.
If a wood profile is required to be replaced before or after sales, old ones can be removed and new ones can be installed thanks to the new locking system. Thus, necessity of performing complete frame-wing replacement is eliminated. The composite joinery system according to the present invention comprises features that are very different from the existing products. It is a composite product formed by combination of three products that are different from each other. It is provided a perfect naturalness and aesthetics with polymer PVC or aluminum materials for being resistant against harsh weather conditions in the exterior space and a real natural wood painted with water based paint harmless to health (paint used on the furniture and toys of children) in the interior space. In addition, galvanized support plates are used inside PVC or aluminum profiles in order to increase the strength of these two different products.
Another feature of the joinery system according to the present invention is that, if the durability and service life of a normal wood window is 50 years, durability and service life of the product can be increased to 150-200 years since wood will not be affected b external weather conditions thanks to this product. Wood will not be damaged in the interior space and it will also be under protection by means of curtains. This will increase interior space durability and service life of the wood. As with the real wood furniture used in our homes lasting for many years, this product will also last in the same manner. This is because in the interior space it will not be exposed to external weather conditions. It will be healthier and durable by breathing with the water based paint being used.
This product also allows for using less than 50% wood by preventing the more trees from being cut. With the utilization of less than half wood, longer lasting life is provided due to the interior space usage thereof. This situation will allow for cutting fewer trees from the system in the long term.
In the joinery made using normal system, wastage and material losses take place due to the utilization of 40% of sized wood as accessories and due to glazing channel gaps being formed. In this system, since the required wood profiles are produced and required accessory, glazing channel systems are produced from PVC or aluminum materials, wastage ratio of joinery is reduced to 5%, more wood shavings is not made and tree cutting is prevented. This situation, in turn, leads to less consumption of forests in the ecological system.
In order to achieve mentioned objects, the present invention relates to a composite joinery system developed for door and window systems used for insulating facades of buildings in the construction sector, comprising exterior space wing profiles provided on the side facing the exterior space, wood wing profiles provided on the side facing the interior space and a double glazing, wherein said wood wing profiles are mounted by being slided and fitted from the upper portion between fitting tabs and locking tabs formed on said exterior space wing profiles. The structural and the characteristic features and all advantages of the present invention will be understood more clearly with the following figures and the detailed description written by referring to said figures. Therefore, the evaluation needs to be done by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.
