Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Alterungszustandes eines Subjekts. Das Verfahren erlaubt es, ausgehend von bestimmten Nukleinsäuren oder Proteinen und deren Expressionslevel Rückschlüsse auf das Alter und mit dem Alter verbundene Zustände eines Subjektes – auch unabhängig vom Geschlecht – zu ziehen. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft außerdem eine Gruppe von Genen, deren Expressionslevel vom Alterungszustand des jeweiligen Subjekts – auch unabhängig vom Geschlecht – abhängt. Darüber hinaus betrifft die Erfindung die Bestimmung des Expressionslevels der Gene sowie die Benutzung der entsprechenden Expressionslevel zur Bestimmung von Alterungszuständen. Diese Erfindung betrifft auch Vorrichtungen, insbesondere Arrays und Chips, die zur Bestimmung des Alterungszustandes eines Subjekts eingesetzt werden können.
