Abstract
The invention relates to the field of the treatment of waste waters containing impurities in suspension, and may be used in petroleum processing, crude oil extraction, petrochemical, chemical, machine-building and other industries. In the claimed oil separator and precipitator, the thin-layer module assembly made of plates installed lengthwise is positioned at an angle to the side wall of the body, forming together with said wall, an upwards-widening flocculation chamber for feeding the original oil-containing water, and an upwards-narrowing chamber for purified water take-off, the devices for the original oil-containing water feed and purified water take-off being located in the flocculation chamber and chamber for purified water take-off, respectively.
