Abstract
The invention relates to a fail-safe apparatus, in particular a brake unit, comprising a first brake lever (1) which is mounted pivotably at one end, said brake lever (1) being pivotable with respect to a second brake lever (2), an actuator (13), which acts on the other end of the first brake lever (1) in order to pivot the latter by way of a lifting movement into an opening position and into a braking position, a spring device (12) for securing the braking position of the first brake lever (1) if the actuator (13) fails, a rocker (14) which is connected to the spring device (12) in one end region and is articulated in a pivotable manner in the opposite end region, and a control device (15, 16) between the rocker (14) and brake lever (1), the pivoting movement, corresponding to the spring stroke, of the rocker (14) being smaller than the opening stroke of the actuator (13) on account of said control device (15, 16).
