- the at least one visual indicator (104e) may be illuminated while electrical signals are being emitted from the device and the visual indicator may be configured to blink at a regular interval while the device is on. For example, a light may immediately be illuminated when the device (100) is turned on. The light may blink for one second interval for 10 seconds. Thereafter, the light may fade to black and blink once every 45 seconds while the device (100) is turned on.
- the timer of the visual indicator (104e) can be reset when user modifies the function of the device (100) by adjusting the intensity of the visual indicator (104e). Upon resetting the timer, the initial start up routine repeats and blinks once every second for ten seconds.
- the visual indicator (104e) may provide other statuses. For example, the visual indicator (104e) may remain on to indicate that battery life is low.
- the at least one internal power supply (104f) may comprise of a battery that is disposable thereafter.
- the internal power supply (104f) may be integrated into the device without any replaceable parts. Further, the said internal power supply (104f) may be positioned at any location of the bandage of the pain management device (100).
- the electronics module of the device (100) further comprising signaling mechanism which is delivered to adhesive pads of the at least two side tabs on each side of the module and to the wound care type material (202) on the module of the central region.
- the internal power supply (104f) may supply power to the electronics module and the electronics module may be located within a middle portion of the bandage.
- the said electronics module further comprising signaling mechanism wherein said signaling mechanism further comprising electrical circuit which provides a biphasic or monophasic sequence of pulses using electrical signal to electrodes and said sequence of pulses form a plurality of pre-programmable waveforms.
- the plurality of electrodes in the device (100) of the present invention for contacting user's skin is configured to emit an electrical signal.
- the electrical signal is a fixed electrical signal or a modulated signal.
- a positive electrode and a negative electrode may be positioned on either side of the internal power supply (104f) and/or on the electronics module.
- the electrical signal may be emitted through a grid of integrated electrodes wherein the grid may comprise of a pair of 2 inch by 2 inch electrodes positioned at opposite ends of the device (100).
- the electrode grid may be configured to provide maximum signal transmission over a two inch area at each end of the device.
- the plurality of electrodes have varying shapes and sizes and can be affixed directly to a site or other area requiring electrical neuro or muscular stimulation anywhere on user's body, said electrodes are positioned at a specified distance from the electronics module wherein said electrodes are swivel or fixed electrodes at the anatomical site.

- the device may be waterproof; the battery and/or electrodes may be encased in a water impermeable casing.
- the pain management device (100) of the present invention provides electrical stimulation topically to an anatomical site that is covered by bandage to control and manage pain wherein the console panel (102) on the central region of the bandage type device is further covered with a wound care type material (202) that is appropriate for an open wound; wherein electrical stimulation is delivered directly through the wound care type material (202) to the open wound.

Abstract
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de gestion de la douleur pour fournir topiquement une stimulation électrique à un site anatomique qui est couvert par un pansement pour lutter contre la douleur et la gérer. Ledit dispositif (100) comprend au moins un pupitre de commande (102) sur la région centrale du dispositif dans lequel est intégré un module électronique avec neurostimulation électrique transcutanée (TENS) ; et au mois aux moins deux languettes latérales (106a, 106b) sur les deux extrémités de la zone prévue fixées par des coussinets adhésifs. Le ou les pupitres de commande (102) sur la région centrale du dispositif sont en outre couverts d'un matériau de type destiné au soin des plaies (202) qui est adapté à une plaie ouverte ; la stimulation électrique étant délivrée à la plaie ouverte directement par le matériau de type destiné au soin des plaies (202).
