TEST EXAMPLE 1
Paddy soil was put into a 1/10,000 are pot to simulate a paddy field, and tubers of
Scirpus planiculmis Fr. Schm. were planted and left to stand under an irrigated condition with a water depth of 3.5 cm. When Scirpus planiculmis Fr. Schm. reached a predetermined size, compound A and compound B were, respectively, applied in predetermined amounts. After expiration of a predetermined period, the state of growth of Scirpus planiculmis Fr. Schm. was visually observed and investigated. As a measured value, the growth inhibition rate (%) evaluated in accordance with the following evaluation standard, and as a calculated value, the growth inhibition rate (%) calculated by the Colby's formula (WEED, vol.15, pages 20 to 22, 1967) are,
respectively, shown in Tables 1-1 to 1 -40.
Growth inhibition rate (%) = 0% (equivalent to the non-treated area) to 100%
(complete kill)
