Abstract

Die Vollmantel-Schneckenzentrifuge dient zum kontinuierlichen Trennen eines Gemisches fließfähiger Stoffe unterschiedlicher Dichte. Sie hat eine um eine horizontale Achse (16) drehbare Rotortrommel (12) mit einem zylindrischen Trommelabschnitt (18) und einem konischen Trommelabschnitt (20) und eine darin gelagerte, um dieselbe Achse (16) rotierende Förderschnecke (22) mit an einer Hohlwelle (24) angebrachter Schneckenwendel (26) für den Transport der schweren Phase zu Austragsöffnungen (28) im konischen Trommelabschnitt (20). An einer den zylindrischen Trommelabschnitt (18) abschließenden Stirnwand (40) wenigstens eine Abflussöffnung (62) für die leichte Phase mit einer Einrichtung zum Einstellen des Flüssigkeitsstandes vorgesehen. Gemäß der Erfindung besteht die Einrichtung zum Einstellen des Flüssigkeitsstandes aus einem Steuerelement (42) mit Mitteln zum Abbremsen oder Beschleunigen der Flüssigkeitsteilchen der leichten Phase, das mit einer von der Trommeldrehzahl unterschiedlichen Drehzahl rotierend angetrieben ist und zur Trommelinnenwand (58) einen Durchström-Ringspalt (60) freilässt.
