Description
Head restraint
Technical field
The invention concerns a head restraint for a vehicle seat.
Background of the invention
Currently, the head restraint' consists of a frame, carrier, foam and cover. The holder is made of EPP material and has holes inside and a contact surface that is used to position and fix the frame, which is installed in the holder. The EPP material is expanded polypropylene, which is a thermoplastic polymer. Foam is fitted on the holder and the foam is in turn covered with cover. But a head restraint made in this way entails considerable consumption of production material, which is related to the production costs. These costs may lead to a rise in the prices of vehicles that should be better accessible in terms of price.
Summary of the invention
The deficiencies of the solutions known to data are eliminated by the solution that concerns the head restraint for the vehicle seat. The head restraint consists of a holder, foam, cover and U-shaped frame.
The principle of the solution consists in that the holder is made of EPP material. EPP is expanded polypropylene, which is a thermoplastic polymer. The EPP material used to make the holder is sintered in a mould. The U-shaped frame that is galvanized is inserted into the mould with the EPP material and sintered together with it. This mode of production eliminates the assembly of the U-shaped frame into holder because the U-shaped frame is already fixed in the holder. The visible design parts of the holder have a design. The design is a pattern that is made on the smooth surface of the material. The visible parts of the holder have a design in order to lend them a better aesthetic appearance in the vehicle interior and for them to be more pleasant to touch. A component of the front part of the holder is the neck support, which is
located between the lower edge and upper edge of the front part of the holder. The foam with cover is stuck to the front side of the holder. At production, the cover is placed into the mould and film is placed on it, on which the foam is poured. The film is used in production to prevent the foam from penetrating the cover. This mode of production makes it possible to fasten the cover to the foam, which is made of PUR foam. PUR is polyurethane, which is a thermoplastic elastomer. The cover is made of textile material used to upholster the head restraints.
In a case where the U-shaped frame is not galvanised, the frame is divided into three sections, the U-shaped section and two stays. Both stays may be chrome-plated or lacquered and the U-shaped section without surface finish is then moulded with them. The assembled frame is inserted into the mould together with the EPP material and sintered together.
Head restraints made in this way are characterized by lower consumption of material and shorter assembly time, since the assembly of the U-shaped frame into the holder is dropped. Production time is shortened also for the reason that no time is spent on sewing the cover, since it is fastened to the foam already in the mould in which the foam is cast. For these reasons, production of head restraint is less costly than current production.
Brief description of the drawings
The invention is further explained using diagrams in which Figure 1 is the space visualization of the head restraint, Figure 2 is the space visualization of the head restraint holder, Figure 3 is the space visualization of the head restraint foam, Figure 4 is the space visualization of the head restraint cover, Figure 5 is the visualization of the U-shaped frame, Figure 6 is the space visualization of the individual parts comprising the U-shaped frame.
Detailed description of the invention
The technical solution of the head restraint according to the invention is visualized in Figure 1 , which contains the space visualization of the head restraint, which consists of the holder 1, foam 2, cover 3 and U-shaped tubular frame 4.
The individual parts that make up the head restraint are visualized in Figures 2 - 6. Holder 1, which is made of EPP material, is visualized in Figure 2. The U-shaped frame 4, which is visualized in Figure 5 is galvanised and is inserted into the mould containing EPP material where is sintered. In this way, the holder 1 is made that also integrates the U-shaped tubular frame 4. The visible parts 6 of holder 1 have a design. The design is a pattern that is made on the smooth surface of the material. The visible parts 6 of holder 1 have a design in order for the visible parts 6 of holder 1 to have a better aesthetic appearance in the vehicle interior and to be more pleasant to touch. A component of the front side 7 of holder 1 is the neck support 11 , which is located between the lower edge 2 and upper edge 13 of the front side 7 of holder 1. The foam 2 with cover 3 is stuck to the front side 7 of the holder The foam 2 is visualized in Figure 3 and is made of PUR material. The cover 3 is at production placed into the mould and a film is placed on it, on which the foam 2 is poured. Using this mode of production, the cover 3 is fastened to the foam 2. The cover 3, which is visualized in Figure 4, is positioned on the front side 5 of the foam 2 and is made from the textile material used for the cover of the head restraints.
In the further design where the U-shaped frame 4 is not galvanised, the frame 4 is divided into three sections, as visualized in Figure 6. U-shaped frame 4 is divided into U-shaped section 8 and two stays 9. Both stays 9 may be chrome-plated or lacquered and the U-shaped section 8 without surface finish is then moulded with them. The assembled U-shaped tubular frame 4 is inserted into the mould together with the EPP material and sintered together. A component of the front side 7 of holder 1 is the neck support 11, which is
located between the lower edge 12 and upper edge 13 of the front side 7 of holder 1 The foam 2 with cover 3 is stuck to the front side 7 of the holder 1. The cover 3 is at production placed into the mould and a film is placed on it, on which the foam 2 is poured. In this mode of production, the cover 3 is fastened to the foam 2, which is made of PUR foam material. The cover 3 is positioned on the front side 5 of the foam 2 and is made from the textile material used for the cover of the head restraints.
