  • the positioning station comprises at least a first and a second actuators for shifting the box along a first direction, parallel to the direction of movement of the sheet along the conveyor, and on a second direction, transversal (preferably perpendicular) to the first direction and parallel to the supporting surface.
  • the positioning station is configured for moving of the box, that is, the supporting head, and in particular it is configured for shifting the supporting head along said first direction, shifting the supporting head along said second direction, and rotating the supporting head; wherein said rotation is being performed depending on the angular orientation identified by processing said acquired image.
  • the positioning station comprises at least one pair of photocells facing towards the conveyor for detecting at least one colour discontinuity between the supporting surface of the conveyor and a covering sheet positioned on that supporting surface.
  • the apparatus is equipped with movement means operating on a movable frame for supporting the supporting head, to divide the supporting head shifting movement into at least two translation movements in respective directions which are transversal to each other (not parallel, preferably perpendicular) and lying in a plane parallel with the supporting surface of the conveyor, so as to implement the above-mentioned "tracking" operating logic.
  • control unit is connected to the photocells and to the movement means for subjecting each supporting head translation movement to a respective photocell, and is also programmed to activate the movement means depending on the signals emitted by the photocells and to interrupt at least one of the supporting head translation movements when the corresponding photocell detects that a colour discontinuity has been reached between the covering sheet and the supporting surface of the conveyor.
  • the acquisition station is positioned upstream of the positioning station relative to the direction of feed of the conveyor.
  • the acquisition station comprises a camera positioned above the conveyor and facing towards it, and can be translated along the direction of feed of the conveyor.
  • the acquisition station comprises a camera supporting portal, able to slide while supported on respective guides which are parallel with the direction of feed identified by the conveyor.
  • control unit is programmed to calculate, starting from the photographic image acquired, the value of an angle of inclination of a covering sheet relative to a fixed reference and to activate the supporting head translation movements in such a way as to move the movable frame so that it adopts, relative to the fixed reference, an angle coinciding with the angle obtained from processing of the photographic image.
  • the movable frame comprises a sliding structure supporting the supporting head and supported by respective longitudinal guides so that it slides relative to the fixed frame along the direction of feed, and said movable structure is associated with a first actuator designed to move it along the longitudinal guides.
  • the first actuator is mounted on a supporting structure which rotates fixed to the sliding structure according to the rotation movement of the supporting head in the plane parallel with the conveyor.
  • the movement means comprise a second and a third actuator, which are parallel with each other, for making the sliding structure translate along a direction transversal to the direction of feed and/or rotate in the plane parallel with the supporting surface of the conveyor.
  • Each longitudinal guide is supported by a corresponding transversal support designed to guide the longitudinal guide, and with it the sliding structure, in a translation movement and/or a rotation in the plane parallel with the supporting surface of the conveyor.
  • Each transversal support is slidably coupled to a fixed frame for sliding perpendicularly to the direction of feed and is also hinged to the respective longitudinal guide to allow an inclination of the longitudinal guide relative to the fixed frame.
  • the above-mentioned first actuator comprises a basic body fixed to one of the longitudinal guides and a pusher connected to the sliding structure for moving the sliding structure along the longitudinal guides.   • the first actuator 14 can apply a pushing action which is always directed along the longitudinal member 8 and therefore without components transversal to it which would compromise system sliding and would increase the forces exchanged.
  • the first actuator 14 comprises a basic body 19, fixed to one of the longitudinal guides 20 by means of the supporting structure 18, and an active portion (a pusher or piston) connected to the sliding structure for moving it along the longitudinal guides 7.
  • the colour discontinuity identifies the outer profile of the covering sheet 200 and, therefore, detection of the colour variation coincides with reaching the edge of the covering sheet 200.
  • the actuators 14, 16, 17 are of the male - and - female screw type driven by respective electric motors "M".
  • said type of actuators is particularly suitable for producing a high level of positioning precision and is particularly advantageous in producing open loop shifting as in the case of rotation of the supporting head commanded by the control unit depending on the angle identified based on the photographic image.
  • the electric motors "M" of the actuators 14, 16, 17 are of the brushless type, particularly suitable for use in situations requiring a high level of precision.
  • - preparing a packing box 100 to be applied to the covering sheet 200 at the positioning station 4 in such a way as to superpose a bottom wall of the box 100 on a corresponding base portion of the covering sheet 200; - moving the box 100 by means of a supporting head 1 1 in such a way that the box 100 adopts, relative to the covering sheet 200, a predetermined orientation in which the bottom wall of the box 100 is aligned with the base portion of the covering sheet 200.

  • the correction of head angular positioning performed based on an angle value previously calculated based on the image acquired (therefore in open loop) releases the supporting head rotation movement from the two translation movements of the head, thus allowing a significant increase in positioning precision.
  • the apparatus made in this way is, in fact, free of the intrinsic positioning error which, in prior art apparatuses completely controlled by "tracking" logic with photocells, combines the translation movements of the supporting head with the rotation movement.

Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé pour positionner des boîtes d'emballage dans des lignes de revêtement, lequel procédé comprend une étape consistant à acquérir une image photographique d'une feuille de revêtement (200) positionnée sur le transporteur (2), une étape consistant à traiter l'image photographique pour identifier une orientation angulaire adoptée par la feuille de revêtement (200) sur le transporteur (2) et une étape suivante d'orientation d'une boîte d'emballage (100) en fonction de l'orientation angulaire précédemment identifiée, de telle manière que la boîte (100) et la feuille de revêtement (200) sont positionnées selon la même orientation angulaire et peuvent être superposées avec un niveau de précision élevé.
