Abstract

A wrinkle development impeding article and method. It comprises a pressure sensitive tape for application across a stretched facial wrinkle, for impeding skin movement and wrinkle development. The pressure sensitive tape includes a thin strip, which comprises a film backing material, and which includes opposed sides. It also includes an adhesive coating material, applied to one of the thin strip opposed sides. The adhesive coating material is pressure sensitive, to adhere to the stretched facial wrinkle with the application of pressure, and without activation by a non-pressure-sensitive resource. The thin strip and the adhesive coating material impede skin movement and wrinkle development.

WRINKLE DEVELOPMENT IMPEDING
ARTICLE AND METHOD
Copyrightable Subject Matter
[0001] A portion of the disclosure of this patent document contains material which is subject to copyright protection. The copyright owner has no objection to the facsimile reproduction by anyone of the patent document or the patent disclosure, as it appears in the Patent and Trademark Office patent file or records, but otherwise reserves all copyright rights whatsoever.
Background of the Invention
[0002] 1. Field of the Invention:
[0003] This invention is generally related to wrinkle impeding articles, and more particularly, to an article and method for impeding skin movement and wrinkle development.
[0004] 2. General Background and State of the Art:
[0005] The wrinkle development impeding article includes a pressure sensitive tape for application across a facial wrinkle, for diminishing and hiding the appearance of wrinkles.
[0006] Botox injections have been used in order to remove the appearance of wrinkles. However, there are potentially harmful effects from the use of Botox injections. Other products previously used include materials that require solvent, heat, or water for activation. Still other previously used products include a water gum activated adhesive that adheres to the face, but is heavy, unattractive, uncomfortable, and generally ineffective. [0007] Therefore, it would be desirable to provide an article and method which is capable of preventing the skin from developing the appearance of wrinkles, and for removing the appearance of wrinkles, in a safe and effective manner.
Invention Summary
[0008] Briefly, and in general terms, in accordance with aspects of the invention, and in a preferred embodiment, by way of example, it is, therefore, one of the primary objects of the present invention to provide an article for impeding skin movement and wrinkle development.
[0009] It is another object of the present invention to provide an article which comprises a pressure sensitive tape for application across a facial wrinkle, which is light, non-messy, elegant and effective.
[00010] It is a further object of the present invention to provide an article which includes a thin strip, which comprises a film backing material, including opposed sides. The thin strip may comprise paper or plastic film. It may be transparent, translucent, or opaque. Further, it may be shaped, such as rectangular in shape.
[0001 1] It is also an object of the present invention to provide an article which further includes an adhesive coating material, applied to one of the thin strip opposed sides, for coating the film backing material with a pressure sensitive material which will adhere to the facial wrinkle with the application of pressure. It will conform to, and make contact with, a rough or uneven surface. The film backing material will adhere to the facial wrinkle without activation by a non-pressure- sensitive resource. [00012] It is another object of the present invention to provide an article wherein the user applies the pressure sensitive tape across the facial muscle with pressure on the thin strip and the film backing material.
[00013] It is yet another object of the present invention to provide an article wherein the application of the pressure sensitive strip to the facial wrinkle prevents the skin from moving as it naturally would during activities such as conversations, expression, and/or sleeping, depending upon the time of day at which it is being applied.
[00014] These and other aspects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description which describes, by way of example, the features of the invention.
Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiments
[00015] Referring now in more detail to preferred embodiments of the present invention, the article for example comprises an article for impeding skin movement and wrinkle development, which helps to prevent wrinkles and slow down the appearance of wrinkles.
[00016] The article constitutes a pressure sensitive tape for application across a facial wrinkle.
[00017] The article includes a thin strip which comprises a film backing material, including opposed sides. It further includes an adhesive coating material, applied to one of the thin strip opposed sides, coated with a pressure sensitive material which will adhere to the facial wrinkle with the application of pressure. It will adhere to the facial wrinkle without activation by a non- pressure-sensitive resource. It will conform to, and make contact with, a rough or uneven surface. The non-pressure sensitive resource which the article does not utilize to adhere to the facial wrinkle may comprise solvent, heat, or water activation. [00018] The thin strip may comprise paper or plastic film.
[00019] The adhesive coating material which may be applied to coat and bond to one of the opposed sides of the thin strip may be acrylic or synthetic rubber based. It may include embedded material such lemon extracts, menthol, eucalyptus, honey and other natural ingredients that have proven beneficial for skin health and appearance.
[00020] The thin strip to which the pressure sensitive material may be applied may be transparent, translucent, or opaque. The thin strip may be shaped, such as a rectangular shape.
[00021] In a method for example for the use of the article, the user applies the pressure sensitive tape across the facial muscle with pressure on the thin strip and the film backing material.
[00022] The application of the pressure sensitive strip to the facial wrinkle prevents the skin from moving as it naturally would during activities such as conversations, expression, and/or sleeping, depending upon the time of day or night that it is being applied. This operation of preventing the skin from otherwise naturally-occurring movement in areas where wrinkles already occur may prevent the skin from continuing to further wrinkle, thereby over time reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
[00023] Also, when removing the pressure sensitive strip from the stretched facial muscle there may be exfoliation of the skin which can be beneficial to the user.
[00024] From the foregoing it will be appreciated that the article of the present invention provides advantages in impeding wrinkle development. While particular forms of the invention have been described, it will be apparent that various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited thereby.
