Abstract
La présente invention concerne une souche inédite de Brevibacillus laterosporus LAK 1210 (MTCC 5487), dont le numéro d'enregistrement est MTCC 5487, et qui peut être utilisée en vue de la production combinée de protéines insecticides et d'enzymes chitinolytiques inductibles ayant une utilité potentielle dans la lutte contre les insectes nuisibles tant en agriculture qu'en sylviculture, dans la lutte contre les maladies des plantes et dans les programmes de lutte contre les moustiques. Grâce à ses effets multiples, puisqu'elle peut également être utilisée en vue de la production de chitinase ayant la capacité de dégrader les déchets marins, cette souche insecticide inédite de Brevibacillus laterosporus LAK 1210 a de nombreuses applications biotechnologiques dans le domaine de l'agriculture, de la sylviculture, de la médecine et de l'environnement. L'invention concerne, en outre, une nouvelle chitinase dotée de caractéristiques inédites, qui est issue d'une source toute récente de microorganismes, et ses applications inédites dans le cadre de l'utilisation de la biomasse et de la gestion des déchets. Les procédés et compositions de l'invention font appel à des cellules végétatives, à leurs dérivés (spores, extraits cellulaires, fractions enzymatiques) et à des polypeptides pour la mise au point d'un pesticide naturel permettant de lutter contre les insectes et les champignons phytopathogènes. Un autre objet de l'invention consiste à étendre l'effet synergique des chitinases en matière d'activité insecticide pour une activité pesticide améliorée impactant un plus large éventail d'animaux nuisibles.
