Abstract
The invention relates to a vane pump for a compressible fluid, having a sealed housing (4) which comprises a pump chamber (6), wherein the housing (4) consists substantially of a flange portion (8), a peripheral portion (10), and a cover portion (12), wherein in the flange portion (8) a rotor shaft (14) having a rotor unit (18), which comprises at least one slide element (20), is rotatably mounted in such a manner that the rotor unit (16) divides the pump chamber (6) into at least two partial chambers (5, 7), and provides a pressure/low pressure construction, wherein the cover portion (12) is configured so it is movable in the axial direction of the rotor shaft (14), in such a manner that, if the pressure is excessively high in a partial chamber (5, 7), a pressure release occurs through a fluidic connection with the adjacent partial chamber (5, 7).
