Description

A safety device with a window and/or door fitting to prevent sudden and unintentional closing of a window and/or door wing
The present invention refers to a window and/or door fitting, in particular to a safety device with a window and/or door fitting to prevent sudden and unintentional closing of a window and/or door wing.
A safety device to prevent sudden and unintentional closing of a window and/or door wing is generally known and usually comprises two parts which snaps mutually due to particular shape thereof in a final tilted position. Such solutions are quite suitable, however they are complex to produce and, as result, cost-ineffective.
It is the object of the present invention to create a safety device with a window and/or door fitting to prevent sudden and unintentional closing of a window and/or door wing of the aforementioned kind which remedies the disadvantages of the known solutions.
According to the present invention, the object as set above is solved by characteristics set forth in a characterizing part of the claim 1.
The invention is further described in detail by way of non-limiting preferred embodiment, and with a reference to the accompanying drawing, where
Fig. 1 shows a three-dimensional view of a safety device to prevent sudden and unintentional closing of a window and/or door wing according to the invention,
Fig. 2 shows a safety device of Fig. 1, installed and with the closed window and/or door wing,
Fig. 3 shows a safety device of Fig. 1, installed and with the opened window and/or door wing. A safety device 1 with a window and/or door fitting to prevent sudden and unintentional closing of a window and/or door wing according to the invention is intended to be installed directly into the window and/or door wing, similar to the most of the other fitting parts. Said safety device 1 (Fig. 1) comprises a relatively thin elongated flat body 2, at least one fixing through-hole 4 being provided at the first end 3 thereof. The opposite, second end 5 of said flat body 2 is formed with a triangular slit 6 narrowing in the direction from said second end 5 towards the centre of the flat body 2. There, the top of said slit 6 is formed with a circular through hole 7, whereas said second end 5 is formed with a slope 8. Said slit 6 and said through-hole 7 are arranged essentially perpendicular to a flat shaped surface of the safety device 1. In the embodiment shown, said safety device 1 is produced of injection moulded plastic material.
Conventionally, a longitudinally extending groove (not shown) is formed in a frame of the window and/or door wing, a longitudinally moveable driving bar 9 being arranged in said groove. A face plate 10 is arranged slidingly on the driving bar 9, said face plate being provided with a longitudinal cut-out 12 intended for guidance of a scissors leverage 11 which allows for the window and/or door to be tilted. Said scissors leverage 11 comprises a scissors bar 13 and a tilt limit 14 being connected to said bar 13 by means of a pivot 15, whereas the second end of said tilt limit 14 being connected by means of a further pivot to a window and/or door wing, not shown. Furthermore, said scissors bar 13 is pivotally connected with the first end thereof to a frame, not shown, of the window and/or door wing, whereas the second end of said bar 13 is provided with a cylindrical slider 16 cooperating with said longitudinal cut-out 12. It is provided for, according to the present invention, that the diameter of said slider 16 is slightly smaller with regard to the diameter of said through-hole 7, and simultaneously slightly bigger with regard to a passage from said slit 6 into said through-hole 7.
According to the invention, said safety device 1 is arranged on said face plate 10 and under said scissors bar 13, namely in the area of the end section of said longitudinal cut-out 12 lying closer to a window and/or door hinge, not shown. The placement of the safety device 1 on the face plate 10 according to the invention is provided in a manner that said circular through-hole 7 lies directly above said end section of said longitudinal cut-out 12 being aligned therewith. Said safety device 1 is connected to said face plate 10 by means of fixing means 17, such as rivets in the embodiment shown. In a closed position of the window and/or door wing (Fig. 2) the scissors leverage 11, that is the scissors bar 13 and the tilt limit 14, is aligned in the longitudinal direction with the driving bar 9 and face plate 10, respectively. The cylindrical slider 16 occupies its initial position, wherein it is located in the area of the end section of said longitudinal cut-out 12 being remote from the window and/or door hinge, not shown. When window and/or door wing is completely tilted (Fig. 3), said scissors bar 13 deflects from said longitudinally aligned position for the amount as allowed by said tilt limit 14. Said cylindrical slider 16 of the bar 13 is moved in said longitudinal cut-out 12 in the longitudinal direction of the face plate 10, so that it occupies its final extreme position, said slider 16 now being located in the area of the end section of said longitudinal cut-out 12 being close to the window and/or door hinge, not shown. Since it is provided for according to the invention that the passage from said slit 6 into said through-hole 7 is narrower than the diameter of said slider 6, the latter snaps-in in said cylindrical through-hole 7 of said safety device, which holds now in the position said slider 16. In this manner, it is prevented the window and/or door wing to open uncontrolled due to sudden wind blow or draft.
