Abstract

The invention relates to a textile thermoelectric component, to a method for production thereof and to uses of a textile thermoelectric component. A flat, electrically insulating carrier material (2) is covered by cover threads (3, 4) and penetrated by connecting threads (5, 6) having respectively different thermoelectric material properties in such manner that the cover threads (3, 4) and the connecting threads (5, 6) produce a thermoelectric effect with one another. A method for producing the textile thermoelectric component (1) based on a flat, thermally insulating carrier material (2) is also proposed. The problem of the invention is further solved by the use of the textile thermoelectric component (1), optionally as a Seebeck element for generating a voltage and as a Peltier element for generating a temperature difference, wherein the sides (7, 8) with the lower and higher temperature can be switched as needed. Additional uses consist in detecting the electrical voltages generated by the individual areas of the thermoelectric component (1) are separately and forwarding them to a signal processing means (22).
