Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de connexion de fibres optiques comprenant une première et une seconde fibre optique, chacune présentant des parties d'extrémité qui se terminent par un premier et un second connecteur de fibres optiques, respectivement. Un adaptateur de fibres optiques relie les premier et second connecteurs de fibres optiques. L'adaptateur de fibres optiques comprend un boîtier et un appareil d'alignement de fibres. L'appareil d'alignement de fibres comprend des blocs en V et des blocs de gel. Chacun des connecteurs de fibres optiques comprend un boîtier de connecteur et une gaine. Les parties d'extrémité des fibres optiques sont positionnées au-delà des extrémités distales des boîtiers de connecteurs respectifs. La gaine est reliée de manière coulissante au boîtier de connecteur et coulisse entre une configuration déployée et une configuration rétractée. La gaine recouvre la partie d'extrémité de la fibre optique respective lorsqu'elle est dans la configuration déployée et expose la partie d'extrémité lorsqu'elle est dans la configuration rétractée. Les parties d'extrémité des fibres optiques sont nettoyées lorsqu'elles coulissent entre les blocs en V et les blocs de gel.
