Description

This application relates to a device for exhaustion of unpleasant odors when using a toilet. This device is specifically intended for vessel models that have an attached water tank. The solution presented here differs from those already proposed because it can be either adapted to existing toilets or already incorporated in new units. Another basic feature of the present device is that it collects odors from its own discharge holes in the vessel.
Estado da arte: State of art:
US Patent 5,839,127 also collects odors from the vessel's water discharge holes but, as gas flows through relatively narrow passages, as they were originally designed to drain any excess water from the tank, Gas removal efficiency is relatively small. Another disadvantage is the relative difficulty in retrofitting units in service, as interventions in the components within the tank are required.
In the research carried out it was found that the other patents remove gases from the room after leaving the vessel, which, given the inherent ineffectiveness of the fact that the gases have already escaped to the environment, escapes the scope of the present invention. Other solutions already tried, also outside the scope of the present patent, do not propose the elimination of odor, but its masking with chemicals.
-Can be incorporated into new units as well as sold as a kit (accessory) to retrofit units in operation.
Do not intervene in the tank or the vessel, nor in the components of either. Instead, it is a separate product that installs between the tank and the vessel. The advantage of this configuration is greater ease of understanding of the product by the installer and owner, requiring less manpower specialization resulting ultimately in greater product popularization and acceptance,
-baixar custo de produção e de instalação. - Lower production and installation cost.
Desenhos: -use gravity as an air-water separator without the need for valves. This is an advantage because valves have the sealing requirement, cost and are failable items. Graphics:

The present device basically consists of a user-driven exhaust system and a coupling segment (1) coupled between the tank (2) and the vessel (3) providing, in the existing structure for water flow, an air outlet for said exhaust system.
Said segment (1) is internally leaked, thus consisting of a chamber (4) which has besides the water inlet (5) and the water outlet and air inlet (6), an outlet (7) for ventilation (exhaust out of the room). Two ventilation outlets (7) may be provided, one on each side of said segment (1), so that the side on which the ventilation devices will be installed may be chosen. In this case, the unused outlet is closed by a plug (8). Ventilation is mechanically forced by a fan (9) installed downstream anywhere in the exhaust pipe, and connected to the mains by a cable (10). The fan connects at one end to the chamber (4) by the duct (11) and at the other end to a duct (12) which leads the air out of the room. The fan (9) should be above the maximum flood level of chamber (4), ideally above the tank top, thus ensuring that the discharge water does not reach it. If for aesthetic or space reasons or otherwise it is desirable to place the fan at the same or even below the bottom of the tank, the present invention contemplates an inverted siphon (16) which forces the flow upstream of the fan to reach a higher level than the flood. The fan, when incorporated into the junction segment assembly, has its outlet duct (12) movable to any desired direction for ease of installation.
Conquanto a câmara (4) e o duto (11) de saída de gases adjacente se alaguem durante a descarga, interrompendo a extração de gases, a superfície interna inferior (13) da câmaraWhile the chamber (4) and adjacent gas outlet duct (11) flood during discharge, interrupting gas extraction, the lower inner surface (13) of the chamber
(4) is tilted toward the center to drain water into the vessel immediately after discharge, allowing gas extraction to be restored.
Said junction segment (1) hydraulically connects to the tank (2) above and the vessel (3) below, which is obtained by using sealing rings (14) as the original rings that seal the vessel to the tank. Said junction segment (1) is externally formatted to conform to the shapes of the vessel and tank, which allows to mechanically transfer the weight of the tank to the vessel as well as aesthetic harmonization. The fan can be operated by a switch or housing a presence sensor (15) to activate it as soon as the user is detected. The presence sensor can also have the timer function to keep the fan on for the desired period after using the vessel, ensuring a complete exhaust. To mount the device in a toilet already installed in the building, simply release the tank (2) from the toilet (3) and adapt the segment (1) between one and the other. In the case of new units, the segment can already come from the factory incorporated in the tank, forming a single structure that installs on the vessel like a conventional tank.
