- the problem in the conventional OFDM transmitter is that the signals carried on each subcarrier on the frequency axis are converted into signals on the time axis by the IFFT. That is, since the IFFT is performed in the same parallel operation, an increase in PAPR occurs.
- DFT Discrete Fourier Transform
- the PAPR of the time domain signal after the IFFT 14 does not increase significantly unlike OFDM, so that transmission power efficiency is increased. It is advantageous from the side.
- SC-FDMA a transmission scheme in which IFFT is performed after DFT spreading.
- SC-FDMA is similar to that of OFDM, which provides robustness for multipath channels, and at the same time fundamentally solves the disadvantage of increasing PAPR through conventional IFFT operation. Enabled to use.
- SC-FDMA is also called DFT spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) in the same sense.
- a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) or cubic metric (CM) may be lowered.
- PAPR peak-to-average power ratio
- CM cubic metric
- the 3GPP camp is actively promoting the standardization of LTE-Advanced, which is an improvement of LTE, and in the standardization process of LTE-Advanced, as in the LTE standardization process, the SC-FDMA series technology and the OFDM technology contend.
- the Clustered-DFT-s-OFDM scheme has been adopted to allow non-contiguous resource allocation.
- FIG. 9 is a block diagram illustrating a clustered DFT-s-OFDM transmission scheme adopted as an uplink access scheme in the LTE-Advanced standard.
- An important feature of the clustered DFT-s-OFDM scheme is that it enables frequency selective resource allocation, which can flexibly cope with a frequency selective fading environment.
- the LTE system maintains a single carrier characteristic in the uplink, whereas the LTE-A system allows a case in which DFT_precoding data is discontinuously allocated on the frequency axis or simultaneously transmitted by the PUSCH and the PUCCH.

- a picocell refers to a small cell having a smaller radius than a macrocell
- a femtocell refers to a cell managed by a HeNB. Since the picocell is installed by the operator and the femtocell is installed by the user, 3GPP assumes that the operator does not know exactly the existence of the femtocell.

- the control plane refers to a path through which control messages used by the terminal and the network to manage a call are transmitted.
- the user plane refers to a path through which data generated at an application layer, for example, voice data or Internet packet data, is transmitted.
- the physical layer which is the first layer, provides an information transfer service to an upper layer by using a physical channel.
- the physical layer is connected to the upper layer of the medium access control layer through a transport channel. Data moves between the medium access control layer and the physical layer through the transport channel. Data moves between the physical layer between the transmitting side and the receiving side through the physical channel.
- the physical channel utilizes time and frequency as radio resources.

- the messages by the NAS protocol are transmitted by encapsulating the messages by the RRC protocol and the S1-AP message, respectively.
- the RRC state refers to whether or not the RRC layer of the UE is in logical connection with the RRC layer of the E-UTRAN. If connected, the RRC layer is connected to the RRC_CONNECTED state. It is called (RRC_IDLE state). Since the UE in the RRC_CONNECTED state has an RRC connection, the E-UTRAN can grasp the existence of the UE in units of cells, and thus can effectively control the UE. On the other hand, the UE in the RRC_IDLE state cannot be identified by the E-UTRAN, and the core network manages the tracking area, which is a larger area unit than the cell. That is, the UE in the RRC_IDLE state is only detected in a large area unit and must move to the RRC_CONNECTED state in order to receive a normal mobile communication service such as voice or data.
- the terminal When the user first powers on the terminal, the terminal first searches for an appropriate cell and then stays in the RRC_IDLE state in the cell. When it is necessary to establish an RRC connection, the UE staying in the RRC_IDLE state makes an RRC connection with the E-UTRAN through an RRC connection procedure and transitions to the RRC_CONNECTED state. There are several cases in which the UE in RRC_IDLE state needs to establish an RRC connection. For example, an uplink data transmission is necessary due to a user's call attempt, or a paging message is received from E-UTRAN. In one case, the response message may be transmitted.

- the first and second macros Cells 221 and 222 operate the corresponding subframe as ABS.
- the picocell 300 transmits data in the data region of the corresponding subframe, and transmits the CRS in the control region and the data region.
- the CRS is transmitted on symbols 0, 4, 7, and 11.
- the first and second macrocells 221 and 222 operate the corresponding subframe as ABS, no data is transmitted in the data area, thereby preventing interference.
- the first and second macrocells 221 and 222 transmit CRSs on symbols 0, 4, 7, and 11 or symbol 0 according to non-MBSFN ABS and MBSFN ABS.
- the terminal 100 receives the Radio Resource Configuration Dedicated Information Element (IE) and Measurement Config from the picocell 300.

- measSubframePatternNeigh indicating a time domain measurement resource restriction pattern applied to measure RSRP and RSRQ for a neighbor cell
- measSubframeCellList indicating a list of cells to which measSubframePatternNeigh is applied.
- the terminal 100 checks the measSubframePattern-Serv in order to measure the serving cell, that is, the picocell 300.
- the CRS is determined on the symbol positions 0, 4, 7, and 11 of the subframe shown from the serving cell, that is, the picocell 300. Receive and perform measurements.
- the terminal 100 checks the measurement configuration in order to measure neighbor cells, that is, the first and second macro cells 221 and 222.
- the subframe shown in FIG. 20 (b) is a subframe to which the restriction is applied to measure the neighbor cell by measSubframePatternNeigh in the measurement configuration, and the cells to which the restriction is applied are measSubframeCellList. Assume that it is known as 2 macrocells (221, 222).
- the terminal 100 may recognize that all neighbor cells do not have a MBSFN subframe configuration. Accordingly, the terminal 100 determines that the illustrated subframes are not configured as MBSFN subframes by the first and second macrocells 221 and 222, and 0, 4, 7, and 11 of the corresponding subframe.
- a neighbor cell measurement may be performed by receiving a CRS from the neighbor cells, that is, the first and second macro cells 221 and 222 on a symbol position.
- the terminal 100 serves as a serving cell of neighboring cells, that is, one of the first and second macro cells 221 and 222. It is unknown whether it has the same MBSFN configuration. That is, the terminal 100 can know only the degree that some neighboring cells have the same MBSFN subframe allocation configuration as the serving cell from the configuration information of the neighboring cell, as shown in Table 7 above. And it is unknown which particular macrocell of the second macrocell (221, 222) has the same MBSFN configuration as the serving cell.
- the terminal 100 may not know which specific macrocell of the first and second macrocells 221 and 222 is operated as an MBSFN.
- the terminal 100 is uncertain whether the illustrated subframe is actually configured as MBSFN by the first macrocell 222, but the restriction pattern is applied to the first macrocell 222 by measSubframeCellList.
- the subframe shown in FIG. 20 (b) is identified as a subframe to which the restriction is applied to measure the neighboring cell by measSubframePatternNeigh, the first symbol position on the first symbol position of the illustrated subframe is determined. Measurement should be performed using only the CRS received from the macro cell 221 or the second macro cell 222, respectively.
- the UE 100 attempts to perform measurement by receiving the CRS from the first macrocell 221 on the illustrated subframe, the illustrated subframe is transmitted by the first macrocell 222. It is unclear whether the MBSFN is actually configured, but by applying a restriction pattern, the CRS is received only on the first symbol position of the illustrated subframe to perform the measurement.
- the measurement time is long because the measurement must be performed over several subframes in order to maintain the same performance.
- the time spent for the measurement becomes longer in proportion to the measSubframePattern period.
- the CRS on the first symbol position of the subframe shows a high interference level, performance is deteriorated.
- accuracy can be divided into absolute accuracy and relative accuracy. Specifically, it is as follows.
- time domain measurement resource pattern When the time domain measurement resource pattern is applied, it is required to measure a cell operating at the same frequency as the serving cell.
- the absolute accuracy required is as follows.
- the relative accuracy is also required to measure a cell operating at the same frequency as the serving cell when the time domain measurement resource pattern is applied.
- the absolute accuracy required is as follows.
- FIG. 21 descriptions of FIG. 21 are mostly similar to those of FIG. 20. Therefore, only the differences will be described below, and the same contents will be applied mutatis mutandis.
- the neighbor cell configuration information that is, the neighCellConfig value '00' is set, so that the MBSFN configuration of the first macrocell 221 is unknown or not clearly indicated (that is, the neighbor).
- the terminal 100 is a sub to which the restriction is applied by the measSubframePatternNeigh Although a frame is applied to the first macrocell 221 as indicated in the measSubframeCellList, it is determined that the frame is not configured of the MBSFN subframe, and the measurement is performed.
- the terminal 100 determines that it is not configured by MBSFN, even if the restriction is applied to subframe.
- a CRS is received on multiple symbols (eg, symbol positions 0, 4, 7, and 11) to perform the measurement. In this way, the above-described accuracy can be satisfied.
- the serving cell 300 sets the subframe to which the restriction pattern is applied as a general subframe instead of an MBSFN subframe, and information on cells configured as a general subframe instead of an MBSFN subframe on the measSubfameCellList. Only can be included. Then, the terminal 100 performs a general measurement when measuring the cells on the measSubfameCellList since the subframe to which the restriction is applied is a general subframe instead of an MBSFN subframe. In addition, since the subframe to which the restriction is not applied is an MBSFN subframe, the UE performs RSRP / RSRQ measurement using the first CRS.
- the serving cell 300 sets the subframe to which the restriction pattern is applied as a general subframe instead of the MBSFN subframe. Even if there is a cell configured with MBSFN configuration among neighboring cells, the terminal 100 assumes that the corresponding subframe of the cell is a general subframe instead of the MBSFN subframe, and performs RSRP / RSRQ measurement.
- the serving cell restricts the UE to perform RSRP / RSRQ measurement only in the normal subframe, not the MBSFN subframe.
- subframes in which only normal subframes exist, not MBSFN subframes are 0, 4, 5, and 9 in FDD, and 0, 1, 5, and 6 in TDD.
- the terminal performs RSRP / RSRQ measurement only in the normal subframe, not the MBSFN subframe according to the limitation.
