Abstract

An exhaust treatment system (200) is provided. The exhaust treatment system (200) may include a selective catalyst reduction (SCR) unit (108) for removing ΝΟχ from exhaust; a reducing agent dispensing unit for providing a reducing agent to the SCR unit (108); a first ΝΟχ sensor (202) for indicating a ΝΟχ emission level of the exhaust prior to the SCR unit (108); a second ΝΟχ sensor (204) for indicating a ΝΟχ emission level of the exhaust after the SCR unit (108), wherein at least one of the first ΝΟχ sensor (202) and the second ΝΟχ sensor (204) is a virtual ΝΟχ sensor; and a controller (110) configured to electronically communicate with a virtual sensor network (304) comprising a first virtual ΝΟχ sensor (202) and a virtual reducing agent quality sensor (208) indicating a quality index of the reducing agent according to the first ΝΟχ sensor (202) and the second NOx sensor (204).
