Description
DESCRIPTION
A READING DESK Technical Area
Present invention is related to a reading desk placed on lap or a table to enable a comfortable reading of materials such as books and magazines. Background of the Invention
Reading desks are utilized as support systems that can be positioned on flat surfaces like lap or table to enable a comfortable reading of documents such as books and magazines. There are systems such as strings or clips to fix the document pages. Nonetheless in one-piece reading desks, production becomes further difficult and the production cost increases. Reading desks which have foldable feature are also likely to occupy a vast space even when they are closed. None of them has a sliding notebook and a string pencil holder. In the known situation of technique which relates to US 4978096 numbered patent United States document, there is a reference to a lightweight support system designed for a comfortable reading of materials such as books and magazines and applicable to be used on flat surfaces such as lap or table. Depending on the position of support system fixing the stability of book, the layer angle below the book can be adjusted as desired. To keep the book pages fixed there is a tight string going from one side of the system to the other side and can be moved up and down to enable a better reading for the reader according to his/her field of view.
In another patent document related to the known situation of the technique as in CZ 297693 numbered Czech Republic patent document a foldable reading desk with an adjustable support and plastic stand and with an adjustable paper clip on it. Reading desk is one-piece and one-hundred percent plastic. Support section and paper clips can rotate by means of hinges placed onto stand section.
In US2008149801 numbered United States patent document a reading desk system designed to keep a certain page open while reading a book has been cited. There is a clips system available to hold the book pages. In DE 20308309 numbered German patent document, a table reading desk designed to read book or musical notes of which support section is formed via lock screw and rotating clips has been mentioned. To prevent the sliding of material to read, there are upwards extensions in convex form. On top of the clips there is an adjustable wheeled screw system.
Summary Description of the Invention
The purpose of present invention is to design a cost efficient and easy-to-produce reading desk occupying small space when folded and creating a smooth base angle to provide a comfortable setting for the reader while reading and enabling note-taking.
Detailed Description of the Invention
"A reading desk" designed to reach the objective of present invention has been illustrated in attached figures as explained hereinafter;
Figure l.The view of wings prior to installation.
Figure 2. Side and rear view of reading desk after installation.
Figure 3. Front view of reading desk after installation and the view of upper right notebook when opened
The components in Figures have been enumerated individually and the corresponding explanations of these numbers are as below given: 1. Table reading desk
2.21. Wing
3. Space
4. Holder
5. Holder space
6. Notebook
7. Clips
In its simplest form the reading desk (1 ) constituting the scope of this invention comprises of,
-at least two wings (2,21 )which form when attached to one another a surface to position books, magazines and similar materials to read
-at least one space (3) on both wings (2,21 ) and interlocking when the wings (2,21 ) are inter-jointed.
-at least one holder (4) fixing the materials such as books, magazines etc. on wings (2,21) as they are placed; and
-at least one holder space (5) where the holder is positioned.
In a preferred implementation of this invention holder (4) is in demounted position and when it is mounted it is positioned in holder space (5). In that way reading desk (1 ) is easily lifted and stored when unused.
In a preferred implementation of this invention reading desk (1 ) comprises of at least one notebook (6) positioned on the wings (2,21) to enable note-taking.
In a preferred implementation of this reading desk (1 ) constituting the scope of this invention notebook (6) is placed inside a space (not shown in figures) within the inner section of wing (2,21 ) and can be used by pulling outward. In a preferred implementation of this reading desk (1 ) notebook (6) is positioned on the upper or below part of the wing (2,21 ).
The reading desk (1 ) constituting the scope of this invention also comprises of at least one clips (7) positioned on the wing (2,21 ) and fixing the pages of document on the desired page.
In a preferred implementation of this invention clips (6) is attached to the wing (2,21 ) with an elastic band and can be moved upwards and downwards (4 directions) as desired and can be extended by pulling right and left with no restriction on book size.
The reading desk (1) constituting the scope of this invention also comprises of a pencilcase (not shown in pictures) to hold pens. Pencilcase is positioned on the wing (2,21). In a preferred implementation of this invention pencilcase is attached to the wing (2,21 ) with a string.
The reading desk (1 ) constituting the scope of this invention is inter-jointed by means of spaces (3) on the wings (2,21 ) thus provide a reading surface. Once these spaces (3) are dismounted it is decomposed again. Likewise holder (4) can also be disjointed from holder space (5).
The reading desk (1) constituting the scope of this invention forms a reading surface when the spaces (3) on wings (2,21 ) are interlocked and concurrent holders (4) positioned on wings (2,21) meet to hold the reading material along the bottom part of reading surface.
By using the reading desk (1 ) constituting the scope of this invention it is possible to take notes by removing the notebook(6) on the wing (2,21 ) while reading, to fix the pages with a clips (7) and put pencils inside the pencilcase on the wing (2,21).
The reading desk (1 ) constituting the scope of this invention offers a comfortable reading to the reader when wings (2,21 ) are interconnected with spaces (3) in a single combination. While performing reading the reader has the opportunity to fix the pages with a clips (7), take notes on the notebook (6) and carry a pencilcase which hold pens inside.
The reading desk ( 1) constituting the scope of this invention occupies small space when wings (2,21 ) are disjointed and can be lifted and stored easily. Based on this main concept it is feasible to improve various implementations of this reading desk (1) constituting the scope of this invention which cannot be restricted with the models explained herein. The main explanation of this invention is as provided in Claims.
