Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing a cut edge of a thin-sheet glass. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method and apparatus for removing a fine crack from the cut edge of a glass plate. In addition, the present invention relates to a glass plate from which a crack in a cut edge is removed. The method for removing the crack from the cut edge of the glass plate according to the present invention comprises: a preheating step of preheating, at a temperature lower than a melting temperature, a glass plate which has been cut into a predetermined size so as to have a flat first surface defined by a cut edge; a flame crack-removing step of protecting the portion of the glass plate other than the cut edge of the first surface from contacting a flame, and removing the crack from the cut edge by heating the cut edge such that only the glass at the cut edge is melted, using a flame-throwing means for throwing flame such that the cut edge directly contacts the flame; and a cooling step of slowly cooling the glass plate.
