Abstract

The invention discloses an ironing station (1) having an iron (2) and having a base (4) which has a portable holder (6) for setting down the iron (2) at a distance from the base (4) on a support (8), wherein the holder (6) has at least one spacer (30) for spacing a setting-down surface (12), which faces a soleplate of the iron (2), apart from the support (8), wherein an intermediate space (34) between the holder (6) and the support (8) is laterally open at least in sections, and the base (4) has a pocket (72), which is in the form of a recess, for introducing the at least one spacer (30) when positioning the holder (6) on the base (4), and a base (4) for use in an ironing station (1) of this kind. The invention is suitable, in particular, for reliably setting down an iron (2) on a base (4) of an ironing station (1) and on a support (8) at a distance from the base (4).
