Abstract
The present invention relates to a multi-room system technology capable of achieving an N-screen by independently displaying broadcast streams or various multimedia streams received from a main set-top box in a plurality of rooms. In particular, the present invention relates to a technology according to which a main set-top box is connected to each room via an Ethernet network, which is typically installed and provided in a building in advance, to thereby enable images to be viewed independently at the main set-top box and in individual rooms, and facilitating the installation of a display device in each room using POE. According to the present invention, the Ethernet network, which is typically installed and provided in a building in advance, is used as the base network of a multi-room system, and also a multi-room service is available when simply connecting a display device to an Ethernet port in an individual room, thereby enabling the multi-room system to be easily installed.
