Description
Technical Field
The present invention regards a holder for pens and the like to be placed in a breast pocket, the holder is more precisely intended to provide a firm grip for devices of varying sizes and make sure that the holder itself don't fall out of the pocket while also having the opportunity to store it securely and hygienically in a locker.
Background of the invention
Health workers need to have equipment readily available in the pockets of their uniform, coats and the like. For health professionals it is an annoyance that, for example, pens, pencils, flashlights, scissors, tweezers, etc. fall out of the pockets and down on e.g . the floor, when they work. When this happens, the equipment is than contaminated and it has to either be thrown away, or cleaned before it is used again. However, it often happens, in a hectic work situation, that the equipment is used again since things have to happen quickly.
In such situations there is a risk of hospital infections, which is a major problem both for patients and for the economy since an infection requires more bed days. It is therefore a need to minimize risk factors in order to prevent such infections from occurring .
From US 1795912 A, it is known a pocket to keep pens and the like from falling . It has a longitudinal edge along the top of the pocket. This allows the clip of the pen to get a better grip. From US 1621826 A and US 2415132 A, it is known an inlay that can be put into a pocket and fold it over the edge of the pocket, the intention is that the clip of the pen gets a better grip over the edge of the pocket.
The problem with the solutions mentioned above is that they only work if you have an object with a clip that can be put over the edge of the pocket. Consequently, it is not able to securely hold other objects in place, nor can the user take the holder out of their pocket and still keep the objects stored there in place. Further none of them solve the problem of securing the holder in a pocket and providing it with a solution for storing it securely and hygienically in a locker.
Summary of invention It is therefore an objective of the present invention, as described in the set of claims to solve the problems mentioned above. These problems are solved by a holder that has a series of small protruding flexible pins in the opening, in order to prevent the objects placed therein from falling out. These flexible pins allow the objects placed inside to vary
in size and still be held in place. Furthermore, it is not necessary to place the objects in a particular place in the holder, nor is it necessary for the objects to have a clip in order to stay in place.
Brief description of drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view of the present invention with a fastener folded down so that it can easily be attached to a pocket.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the present invention with a fastener folded up so that it can easily be attached to a metallic surface.
Figure 3 is a picture of the present invention seen from above. Detailed Description
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the present invention seen from a slanted angle from the front.
The invention comprises a main body 100 with a front side 101 and a back side 102 which are connected with partially covering side walls 103. The sidewalls 103 connect the upper part of the front side 101 and the back side 102. Front side 101 and back side 102 are further connected at the bottom.
The main body 100 has an opening on each side between the side walls 103 and the bottom. The opening prevents dust and dirt from collecting in the bottom of the main body 100 since this provides fertile grounds for bacteria. The invention further consists of a flap 106 which is hinged 104 to the front side 101 of the main body 100 in such a way that it can be folded down in the front. The flap 106 comprises a magnetic material. On the front of the flap 106, when it is folded down, there is a space 105 where it is possible to attach e.g. a name plate or the like. A name plate can either be held in place using a plastic pocket, a magnet, glue, folded edges or similar fastening methods.
The holder, comprising the flap 106 and the main body 100, is advantageous made of materials that can withstand high heat and disinfectants. An example of such a material is silicone. This means that the invention can be disinfected using e.g. heat, detergents or spirits or similar without being damaged by them. Figure 2 shows the invention in the same perspective as in Figure 1, but with the flap 106 folded up. On the outside of the front side 101 of the main body 100 there is a magnet 200. The magnet 200 holds the flap 106 in place when it is folded down.
Furthermore, using the magnet 200 it is possible to attach the holder to the metallic surface when not in use. Examples of such surfaces can be lockers in a changing room. This ensures that the holder and the objects placed in it, is not in contact with the bottom of the locker, as lockers are seldom cleaned and hence a potential breeding ground for bacteria.
Figure 3 shows the inside of the front side 101 and the back side 102 of the main body 100. Here it is a device 300 for holding objects in place. This device 300 can comprise one or more rows of pins extending perpendicularly from both the front side and the back side. The pins are placed opposite each other and meet in the middle of the opening. These pin are also flexible in order to mold to the object that is inserted into the main body 100. The main body 100 can also be brushes positioned against each other or any other type of soft flexible material.
