Description
- This patent application is related to and claims priority from U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/008,091 filed Dec. 18, 2007.
- The present invention relates, in general, to aprons and storage devices and, more particularly, this invention relates to a wearable storage device for housing and storing a plurality of predetermined items in a manner that enables a wearer of such device to easily access such items.
- Prior to the conception and development of the present invention, aprons, as are generally well known in the prior art, have been used to cover clothing of a user to protect such clothing from becoming dirty while a user is cooking, painting, sculpting, or exposed to other messy items. Storage devices, such as containers, have been used to store items such as tools, scissors, child care items, medical equipment, and the like, however, often such containers are out of reach when necessary and inconvenient to locate. Furthermore, childcare workers, nurses, doctors, mechanics, cooks, teachers, and others, are often unable to locate the specific item that is needed necessitating leaving their work or persons in their charge in order to retrieve the needed item.
- The present invention provides a wearable storage device which includes an apron type member manufactured from a first predetermined material and having a first predetermined shape and a first predetermined size. A plurality of storage members are disposed on at least a first side of such apron type member at a plurality of predetermined locations thereon. A first securing means is disposed on such apron type member for securing such apron type member around at least one predetermined part of a user.
- According to another embodiment, a care kit is provided. Such care kit includes a wearable storage device. Such wearable storage device includes an apron type member manufactured from a first predetermined material and having a first predetermined shape and a first predetermined size, a plurality of storage members disposed on such apron type member at a plurality of predetermined locations thereon, and a securing means disposed on such apron type member for securing such apron type member around at least one predetermined portion of a user. Such care kit further includes a plurality of predetermined items related to at least one of caring for and teaching at least one predetermined person in a predetermined manner. Such plurality of predetermined items at least one of fit within such plurality of storage members, hang from such plurality of storage members, attach to such plurality of storage members, and a combination thereof.
- It is, therefore, one of the primary objects of the present invention to provide a device which is lightweight and can be worn over a user's everyday clothing in a comfortable manner and which includes a plurality of at least one of pockets, compartments, hooks, loops, and a combination thereof such that a plurality of predetermined items may be stored in and on such plurality of at least one of pockets, compartments, hooks, loops, and such combination thereof.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide at least one of a full apron and a half apron having a plurality of predetermined pockets and other storage means disposed at predetermined locations thereon.
- Still another object of the present invention is to provide an apron for covering a predetermined part of a user, such apron including a plurality of housing members disposed thereon for receiving and housing a plurality of predetermined objects related to caring for children.
- Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a comfortable device which can be used to store a variety of items such as scissors, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, paper, medical tools, nursing tools, thermometers, cell phones, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, baby wipes, stethoscope, clipboards, tissues, nail clippers, gloves, trash, keys, snacks, office supplies, tools, medicine, kitchen utensils, and the like.
- An additional object of the present invention is to provide an apron type member which can be worn by a user, such as a nurse, a doctor, a teacher, a daycare worker, a chef, and the like, such apron type member having a plurality of storage members disposed thereon for enabling such user to store various items in and on such storage members such that such various items are close at hand, easily accessible, and out of reach of children and others.
- In addition to the various objects and advantages of the present invention described with some degree of specificity above it should be obvious that additional objects and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent to those persons who are skilled in the relevant art from the following more detailed description of the invention, particularly, when such description is taken in conjunction with the attached drawing figures and with the appended claims.
-
FIG. 1 is a partial perspective view of the invention according to one embodiment of the invention in which the apron type member includes both a chest covering portion and a lap covering portion. -
FIG. 2 is a partial perspective view of the invention according to one embodiment of the invention in which the apron type member is worn by a healthcare practitioner and such apron type member includes a loop type member through which a portion of a stethoscope has been threaded. -
FIG. 3 is a partial perspective view of the invention according to one embodiment of the invention in which a child care worker is depicted wearing such device; pockets on the apron type member are shown housing tissues, scissors, and glue. -
FIG. 4 is a partial perspective view of the invention according to one embodiment of the invention in which the apron type member includes a lap covering portion. -
FIG. 5 is a partial perspective view of the invention according to one embodiment of the invention. - Prior to proceeding to the more detailed description of the present invention it should be noted that, for the sake of clarity and understanding, identical components which have identical functions have been identified with identical reference numerals throughout the several views illustrated in the drawing figures.
