Abstract
A method of a starting system (1) for starting an internal combustion engine (10) in a vehicle with a starter device (2) is described, which starter device (2) has a starter motor (3), a meshing device (5) which meshes a starter pinion (4) and a switching device (6) which switches the starter motor (3). In order to increase as easily as possible the availability of the internal combustion engine (10) in the start/stop operating mode with a starting system which is as simple as possible, the rotational speed of an internal combustion engine (10) is measured, in particular in a start/stop operating mode, after the internal combustion engine (10) has been switched off, and the starter device (2) is actuated after a start request as soon as the rotational speed has dropped below a defined rotational speed tolerance band with respect to a stationary state.
