Abstract

A device for producing renewable thermal energy and biochar is described and includes a reactor and a gas burner coupled together by an ejector system. The ejector system can be two concentric conduits, the larger connects the reactor to the gas burner, and the smaller connects one end to a source of combustion gas and on the other end terminates within the larger conduit. Sizing parameters, and parameters of operation of the reactor and combustion gas source are chosen to induce producer gas flow from the reactor to the burner, and mixing of producer gas with combustion gas. Methods of making renewable energy, biochar and carbon credits are also disclosed. Methods of separating biochar from producer gas using an ejector system are also described.
