Abstract

The invention relates to an internal gear pump having a sickle-shaped separator (7) which, in a sickle-shaped pump chamber between an internal gear and a pinion of the internal gear pump, separates a suction region (8) from a pressure region (9). The invention proposes that pilot control ducts (16) be provided in the outer side and in the inner side of the separator (7), which pilot control ducts are open at the pressure-region-side end, that is to say communicate with the pressure region, and taper and end counter to a delivery direction of the internal gear pump. The pilot control ducts (16) effect a continuous pressure rise in tooth spaces of the internal gear and of the pinion from the suction to the pressure region (8, 9), and prevent an abrupt pressure rise at the pressure-region-side end of the separator (7).
