Description

A WASHING MACHINE COMPRISING A CLEANING AGENT DISPENSER
The present invention relates to a washing machine comprising a dispenser wherein the cleaning agents are placed.
Washing machines comprise a dispenser into which the cleaning agents are loaded and a housing wherein the dispenser is placed. The dispenser comprises compartments that provide cleaning agents used in different steps of the washing, such as prewash, main wash, rinsing to be loaded separately from each other. For example, the detergents used in the prewash and main wash steps are loaded into separate compartments and the softener used in the rinsing step is loaded into a different compartment. The cleaning agent placed in the dispenser is delivered into the washing tub after being mixed with the wash water.
Before washing, the dispenser is pulled out of the housing for loading the cleaning agents therein and afterwards the dispenser is seated into the housing by being pushed into the housing. During the seating of the dispenser into the housing, especially the softener, which is liquid, is agitated by the pushing force applied by the user on the dispenser and sometimes a portion of the softener spills into the housing. Delivery of the softener spilled into the housing and the detergent to be used in washing together with the water taken from the mains in the main washing or prewash step into the tub causes stains on the laundry.
In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP1607510, a washing machine is described, comprising a restrictive element placed in the dispenser in order to prevent the liquid detergent from being agitated.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washing machine wherein the softener loaded into the dispenser is prevented from passing to the washing tub prematurely.
The washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof comprises a dispenser having at least one first compartment wherein detergents are loaded and a second compartment wherein the softener is loaded, a housing wherein the dispenser is placed so as to move forwards-backwards and a chamber disposed behind the second compartment, wherein the softener overflowing by passing over the top edge of the dispenser is accumulated. Thus, especially the softener is provided to fill into the chamber, that overflows due to the movement caused by the rippling of the softener in the second compartment as a result of the user pushing the dispenser towards the inside of the housing after loading the cleaning agents into the dispenser. Thus, the softener is prevented from spilling into the housing. Stains are eliminated, occurring on the laundry due to the softener being mixed with the detergent and being prematurely transferred into the tub.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the chamber is in form of a pocket that has an almost U-shaped cross-section. Thus, a chamber is obtained, in a form appropriate for the softener overflowing from the second compartment to fill in.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the chamber is produced so as to be mounted to and dismounted from the dispenser rear wall. Thus, the dirt that may occur in the chamber in the course of time can be removed by taking out and cleaning the chamber. After being cleaned, the chamber is mounted to the dispenser rear wall so as to align with the rear of the second compartment. Thus, healthier working conditions are formed for the user.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the chamber is produced as a single piece together with the dispenser. Thus, the production of the chamber is facilitated.
By means of the present invention, a washing machine wherein the softener is prevented from being delivered into the tub by getting mixed with the detergent used in the prewash and main wash steps in the washing process is realized. Thus, stains that occur on the laundry due to the detergent-softener interaction are prevented.
The washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the schematic view of a washing machine.
Figure 2 – is the perspective view of a dispenser related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 3 – is the partial perspective view of a dispenser related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 4 – is the cross-sectional view of a dispenser related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 5 – is the partial perspective view of the housing and the dispenser before the housing is mounted onto the dispenser, related to another embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 6 – is the partial perspective view of the housing and the dispenser when the housing is mounted onto the dispenser, related to another embodiment of the present invention.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Washing machine
  2. Body
  3. Housing
  4. First compartment
  5. Second compartment
  6. Dispenser
  7. Chamber
The washing machine (1) comprises a body (2), a housing (3) disposed on the body (2), a dispenser (6) disposed into the housing (3) so as to move forwards-backwards, having at least one first compartment (4) wherein the detergents are loaded and a second compartment (5) wherein the softener is loaded.
At the beginning of the washing process, the user pulls the dispenser (6) out of the housing (3) and loads the powder detergent that is used in the main washing or the prewashing steps into the first compartment (4) and loads the softener that is used in the first rinsing step into the second compartment (5). After loading the cleaning agents such as detergent, softener, the user provides the dispenser (6) to be seated into the housing (3) by pushing the dispenser (6) forward.
The washing machine (1) of the present invention comprises a chamber (7) disposed on the outer surface of the rear wall of the dispenser (6) so as to align with the second compartment (5), having a form wherein the softener overflowing can fill when the softener passes over the rear wall of the dispenser (6). While the user pushes the dispenser (6) towards the inside of the housing (3) after loading the cleaning agents, the softener moving towards the rear portion of the dispenser (6) as a result of the agitation occurring in the softener due to its fluidity passes over the dispenser (6) rear wall and fills in the chamber (7). Similarly, when the user loads an amount of softener more than the amount recommended by the producer into the second compartment (5), the softener overflowing over the dispenser (6) rear wall accumulates in the chamber (7). Thus, spilling of the softener into the housing (3) is prevented. Thus, the softener is prevented from mixing with the detergent received from the dispenser (6) during the prewashing or the main washing steps. Since the softener stains the laundry loaded into the washing tub, when the softener interacting with the detergent is delivered into the washing tub during the prewashing or the main washing steps, stains on the laundry are prevented by accumulating the softener overflowing the second compartment (5) in the chamber (7).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cross-section of the chamber (7) is almost U-shaped. Thus, the chamber (7) having a form suitable for the softener overflowing the rear wall of the dispenser (6) to fill in is obtained.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the chamber (7) is produced so as to be mounted to and dismounted from the dispenser (6) rear wall. Thus, the user can take out and clean the chamber (7) at certain intervals and then mount it in its place again. Thus, healthier working conditions are formed for the user.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the chamber (7) is produced as a single piece together with the dispenser (6). Thus, the production of the chamber (7) is facilitated. Thus, the problem of stains occurring on the laundry due to the mixing of the softener and the detergent is eliminated by means of an easy and low-cost way.
In the washing machine (1) of the present invention, the softener is prevented from being prematurely delivered into the tub by mixing with the detergent. Thus, the problem of stains occurring on the laundry due to the interaction between the detergent and the softener is eliminated.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
