Abstract

The object of the present invention is a green facade formed by means of an assembly of detachable panels (1) with plants, wherein it is possible to meet the water needs of the plants of the entire facade through a tank (2) that each of the panels has, without needing to water the panels forming it one by one, such that the green facade does not require an individual irrigation installation for each of the panels, but rather it is only necessary to supply water to a tank of the upper panel for each of the columns of the green facade, allowing the use of plant species with different water needs, planted close to another, since there is no need to water them as they capture the water that each of them needs.

Description

GREEN FACADE
Object of the Invention
The object of the present invention is a green facade formed by means of an assembly of detachable panels with plants, wherein it is possible to meet the water needs of the entire facade through a tank that each of the panels has, without needing to water the panels forming it one by one.
Due to this special configuration, the green facade does not require an individual irrigation installation for each of the panels, but rather it is only necessary to supply water to a cistern of the upper panel for each of the columns of the green facade.
Background of the Invention
Green facades having a series of panels fixed to the facade of a building, strictly speaking, are known in the state of the art.
It is necessary to carry out the irrigation of each of the panels in these green facades through auxiliary means, such as hoses or spray, sprinkling or drip irrigation, which distribute the water over the panels.
It is not possible, in the previous green facades, to perform a different irrigation for each and every one of the panels, such that when there are plants with different water needs there are areas of the facade that present a different growth than the others, giving the facade a low-quality appearance, therefore not achieving the intended effect.
Likewise there are other automated irrigation systems that must be installed according to the dimensions and the arrangement of the panels within the green facade and which, generally, consume large amounts of water.
All these drawbacks are overcome by means of the green facade of the present invention which provides panels that allow carrying out a process in which it is not necessary for any irrigation system to individually reach each of the panels and furthermore, it presents a considerable savings m water consumption for maintaining the plants as opposed to the traditional irrigation systems, avoiding overdosage or defect errors and allowing the combination of plant species with different water requirements because the plants only absorb the water that they need, whereas in the known irrigation system, if different plant species are put together, it is necessary to make an individual irrigation with a different flow rate reach each root of each plant, according to the water needs of each species, which is impossible with the traditional irrigation systems .
Description of the Invention
The present invention relates to a green facade formed by means of an assembly of panels with plants, wherein carrying out the inflow of water which is required by the entire facade from the upper part thereof is possible, with a water outlet per column of panels, without the need to water the panels forming it one by one.
The facade is formed by at least one column of panels, wherein the column is formed by panels arranged one on top of the other, wherein a tank, a substrate and the plants are located within each panel .
Each of the panels has a tank which allows storing a determined amount of water which is used in supplying the plant species that are planted on the substrate of the same panel .
Felt is introduced in the tank located in the lower part of the panel, absorbing the water and leading it by capillarity into the substrate of the panel, favoring the growth of the plants included within the substrate of the mentioned panel .
A green facade with at least one column is thus formed.
There is no irrigation as with other green facades, but rather in the upper part of each column of panels there is a water outlet, which water fills the tank of the panel located thereunder which, when full, runs over and falls onto the panel below it, the tank of which is filled and the process continues until reaching the tank located at the foot of the column. When the water runs over the edge of the tank, it flows through the gutter formed by the lower wall of the panel and is sent to the lower panel, flowing over the corrugated surface of the bottom of the panel until reaching the tank of the lower panel, and so on and so forth.
The water outlet is activated by sensors (at least one sensor per column) strategically arranged in the panels the plants of which have the highest water needs of each column.
Each panel can be individually replaced without needing to remove any adjacent panel since they are not conditioned by the irrigation networks which complicate the replacement of other panels.
Description of the Drawings
The present description is complemented with a set of drawings illustrating the preferred and non-limiting embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 shows the section obtained from a column of panels of the green facade of the present invention.
Figure 2 shows in detail the different views of the container configuring the panel, without felt, without substrate and without plants: front view 2.1, bottom view 2.2, rear view 2.3, top view 2.4 and lateral views 2.5 and 2.6.
Figure 3 shows in detail section A-A of the container of a panel used in the green facade, without the substrate and plants .
Figure 4 shows a section of the felt envelopment of the substrate .
Figure 5 shows a section of the assembly of the substrate inserted in the felt.
Figure 6 shows a perspective representation of a panel viewed from the front face, or the face which is arranged facing the outside of the facade. Figure 7 shows a perspective representation of a panel viewed from the rear face, or the face which is arranged facing the facade .
Preferred Embodiment of the Invention
In view of the foregoing, the present invention relates to a green facade formed by means of an array of panels (1) arranged in rows and columns.
The section obtained from performing a cut on a vertical and transverse plane with respect to the plane of the facade is observed in Figure 1, wherein it can be observed how the panels of a column are arranged one on top of the other and are perfectly aligned.
The panels are essentially rhomboid-shaped, with vertical front and rear faces, whereas the upper and lower faces are inclined and parallel with an inclination increasing from the facade towards the outside of the building.
Each of the panels (1) has a tank (2) in its lower part, whereas a felt envelopment (13) (Figures 4 and 5) which contains the substrate (3) that serves as the base for the growth of the plants (4) is housed in the rest of the inner space
All the views of the empty containers forming each of the panels (1) can be seen in more detail in Figure 2.
All the constructive features of each of the containers forming part of the panels (1) can be seen in more detail in
Figure 3, which shows a section of the container.
The containers forming part of the panels (1) have a rhomboid-shaped configuration, the facing surfaces of which are parallel, such that it has a rear face (5), or face that is inside the facade of the building where the panels are arranged, there is a series of projections (8) on this rear face (5) for fixing and supporting each panel (1) . Furthermore, it has a front face (6) parallel to the rear face (5), and from which the plants (4) emerge during their growth.
The panels (1) have an open upper face (7) through which the substrate (3) inserted in the felt (13) is introduced, as can be observed in Figures 4 and 5. Figure 4 thus shows a section of the felt (13) which will envelope the substrate, whereas Figure 5 shows a section of the felt (13) containing the substrate (3) .
The triangular-shaped lower space of the panels (1) which perform the functions of a water tank (2) can be seen in Figure 6, and a series of brackets (11), the upper part of which serves as support for the felt envelopment (13) containing the substrate (3) is regularly arranged in said lower space. Acting as a gutter (14), the outer part of this lower face (Figure 1) is the element through which the excess water of a tank drips to then lead it to the tank of the panel located thereunder.
Figure 7 shows a perspective view of the container from the bottom or inner face of the green facade.
For the purpose of inserting the substrate (3) within the inner space of each panel (1) , the front face (6) or the face which is arranged facing towards the outside of the building is formed by a grating (15) which prevents the substrate (3) inserted in the felt (13) from coming out.
As observed in Figures 2, 3 and 6, the brackets (11) do not come into contact with the rear face (5) of the panels, leaving a space (9) where the felt (13) is housed which passes through the slot (10) defined between the free end of each bracket (11) and the rear face (5) of each panel (1) .
Figure 7 shows the rear face (5) of the containers which has a corrugated configuration so that when the felt envelopment (13) is attached to this face, a space is left between the grooves (16), through which space the excess water from the tank of the panel located thereabove circulates to the tank of this panel.
The projections (8), which can be seen in detail in Figures 1, 3 and 7, show an inclined lower face (12), such that it defines an acute angle inside which it is possible to house a section which, fixed to the facade, could serve as a support point for the panels (1) .
As a result of the configuration and design of the panels forming the green facade object of the invention, individual irrigation elements for each of the panels are not required, but rather it is only necessary to supply water to one panel for each of the columns of the green facade, allowing the use of plant species with different water needs, planted close to another, since there is no need to water them as they capture the water that each of them needs.
The essential nature of this invention will not be altered by any variations in materials, shape, size and arrangement of the component elements described in a non- limiting manner, such description being sufficient for a person skilled in the art to be able to reproduce the present invention .

Claims

1. - A green facade comprising at least one column of panels formed by at least two panels with plants, arranged one on top of another, wherein each panel has a tank (2) inside it and in the lower area thereof, whereas a substrate (3) inserted in felt (13) is housed in the rest of the remaining upper space, wherein the felt (13) extends into the tank (2), each panel having means for supporting them, characterized in that a series of brackets (11), the upper part of which serves as support for the substrate (3) inserted in felt (13), is regularly arranged in the water tank (2) .
2. - The green facade according to claim 3, characterized in that the brackets (11) do not come into contact with one of the faces of the panels, leaving a space (9) where the felt
(13) is housed which passed through the slot (10) defined between the free end of each bracket (11) and the rear face (5) of each panel (1) .
3. - The green facade according to claim 2, characterized in that the tank (2) is communicated with the substrate (3) through at least the layer of felt (13) extending from inside the tank (2) of each panel (1) until coming into contact with the substrate (3) , the latter being inserted such that the water from the tank (2) is transferred by capillarity into of the substrate (3) of the panel (1) .
4. - The green facade according to claim 1, characterized in that it has a rhomboid-shaped configuration with parallel facing surfaces, having a front face (6) orientated towards the outside of the assembly and a rear face (5) or a face which is arranged facing the facade of the building, vertical and parallel to one another, whereas it further has an upper face (7) and a lower face that are parallel and inclined with an inclination increasing from the facade towards the outside of the building.
5.- The green facade according to claim 1, characterized in that the means for supporting the panels (1) to the facade consist of protuberances (8) on the face which is arranged facing the facade.
6. - The green facade according to claim 5, characterized in that the projections (8) have an inclined lower face (12), such that it defines an acute angle inside of which it houses a section which, fixed to the facade , could serve as a support point for the panels (1) .
7. - The green facade according to claim 4, characterized in that the front face (6) has a grating (15) which prevents the substrate (3) inserted in the felt (13) from coming out.
8. - The green facade according to claim 4, characterized in that the rear face (5) has a corrugated configuration, having grooves (16) such that when the assembly of the felt envelopment (13) and the substrate (3) is attached to this face, a space is left between the grooves (16), through which space the excess water from the tank of the panel located thereabove circulate to the tank of this panel, connecting with the lower panel by means of gutters (14) located in the lower part of each panel.
9. - The green facade according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that it is formed by means of an array of panels (1) arranged in rows and columns.
10. - The green facade according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that each panel with plants has a water outlet acting as a gutter (14) that is activated by sensors .
