Abstract

 小さなサイズの光センサと組み合わせることのできる、簡単な構造の光センサ用部品を提供する。本発明の第1の態様による光センサ用部品は、光センサ(201他)と組み合わせて使用される、一体成形された筒状の光センサ用部品である。筒の一方の端面には、該光センサが組み合わされ、筒の他方の端面(101他)は、外部からの光を該光センサに集光させるレンズからなる。該光センサ用部品は、筒の内側において、筒の周方向の少なくとも3箇所に、該レンズ及び筒の内側面に連なる複数のリブ(103他)を備えている。

光センサ用部品
 本発明は、光センサ用部品に関する。
 人体の位置や動作を検知するための赤外線センサが、エアコンなどの家庭電化製品や防犯機器などに広く使用されている。このような赤外線センサを含む光センサは、外部からの光を集光するためのレンズを備えた光センサ用部品と組み合わせて使用される。
 図14は、光センサ1201及び光センサ用部品1101を組み合わせた従来の構成を示す図である。レンズを含む光センサ用部品1101が、光センサ1201と係合するように構成されている。このような光センサ及び光センサ用部品は、たとえば、特許文献1に記載されている。
 近年、光センサの小型化が進んでいる。しかし、外部からの光を集光するためのレンズの光学性能を維持するには、一定の大きさを維持する必要がある。したがって、小さなサイズの光センサと比較的大きなサイズのレンズを含む光センサ用部品とを組み合わせる必要が生じている。
 このため、別のアダプタ用部品を使用することも考えられる。しかしアダプタ用部品を使用すると、製造工程が増加し、製造コストが増加する。
 従来、レンズの光学性能を維持しながら、小型の光センサと組み合わせることのできる、一体成形の光センサ用部品は開発されていなかった。

 したがって、レンズの光学性能を維持しながら、小型のセンサと係合可能な一体成形部品に対するニーズがある。
 本発明の第1の態様による光センサ用部品は、光センサと組み合わせて使用される、一体成形された筒状の光センサ用部品である。筒の一方の端面には、該光センサが組み合わされ、筒の他方の端部は、外部からの光を該光センサに集光させるレンズ部からなる。該光センサ用部品は、筒の内側において、筒の周方向の少なくとも3箇所に、該レンズ部及び筒の内側面に連なる複数のリブを備えている。
 本態様による光センサ用部品は、レンズ部及び筒の内側面に連なる複数のリブを備えているので、小さなサイズの光センサと組み合わせることができる。また、本発明による光センサ用部品は、一体成形することのできる簡単な構造を有する。
 本発明の一実施形態による光センサ用部品は、前記複数のリブは切り欠き部を有し、各リブの切り欠き部の位置によって前記レンズ部と前記光センサとの距離が決定されるように形成されている。
 本実施形態による光センサ用部品を光センサと組み合わせることによって、レンズ部と光センサとの距離が決定される。
 本発明の一実施形態による光センサ用部品は、前記複数のリブにおいて、前記切り欠き部が前記光センサのパッケージの上面と当たる面の面積の合計をA、前記光センサの上面の面積をBとして、
 0.03 ≦ A/B ≦ 0.20         (1)

 A/Bの値が式(1)の上限を上回ると、リブによって遮光される部分の面積が大きくなり、光学特性が劣化する。A/Bの値が式(1)の下限を下回ると、切り欠き部の強度が不足し、レンズ部と光センサとの距離決定の精度が低下するため、光学特性が劣化する。
 A/Bの値が式(2)を満たせば、光学性能及び切り欠き部の強度がさらに向上する。
 本発明の一実施形態による光センサ部品は、直方体形状のパッケージの光センサと組み合わせて使用される光センサ用部品であって、該パッケージの四つの側面のうち少なくとも二つの側面のそれぞれに対し複数のリブが配置されている。
 本実施形態による光センサ用部品は、直方体形状のパッケージの光センサと組み合わせて使用される際に、光センサに対する回転が防止される。
 本発明の一実施形態による光センサ部品は、直方体形状のパッケージの光センサと組み合わせて使用される光センサ用部品であって、該パッケージの四つの側面のうち少なくとも二つの側面と該パッケージの光入射面との間の辺に対し、それぞれ15パーセント以上の領域を占めるようにリブが配置されている。
 本実施形態による光センサ用部品は、直方体形状のパッケージの光センサと組み合わせて使用される際に、光センサに対する回転が防止される。
 本発明の一実施形態による光センサ用部品は、前記レンズ部が複数のレンズセグメントに分割され、前記複数のリブは、前記複数のレンズセグメントの複数の境界に沿って、前記レンズ部に連なるように形成されている。
 本実施形態による光センサ用部品において、複数のリブは、レンズ部の複数のレンズセグメントの複数の境界に沿って形成されているので、リブによる遮光の影響は限定的である。
 本発明の他の実施形態による光センサ用部品において、前記光センサが焦電型赤外線センサである。

 本態様による光センサ用部品用金型は、光センサのレンズ部分に対応する第1の金型部分と、光センサのレンズ周縁部分に対応する第2の金型部分と、に分割されているので、種々のレンズを備えた光センサ用部品を効率的に製造することができる。また、光センサのレンズ部分に対応する第1の金型部分は、複数のセグメントに対応する複数の部分からなり、リブに対応する形状が前記複数の部分の周縁部に設けられるので、金型の加工が容易であり、且つ、高精度の金型の加工を行うことができる。

 図2は、光センサ用部品100の平面図である。図2に示すように、光センサ用部品100の平面図の輪郭は円形である。該円の中心を通り、水平面(平面図の面)に垂直に伸びる軸が中心軸である。図2において、中心軸の方向にZ軸を定め、水平面内にX軸及びY軸を定めている。
 光センサ用部品100は、レンズからなる端部101と側面105とを含む。さらに、光センサ用部品100は、リブ103を含む。本実施形態において、リブ103は3個備わり、円周方向に等間隔で隔てられている。3個のリブ103は、それぞれ、レンズからなる端部101の内側のレンズ面102と側面105の内側の面に連なる。各リブ103には、切り欠き部1031が備わり、切り欠き部1031は、光センサのパッケージ201と係合するように構成されている。本明細書において、光センサのパッケージを単に光センサと呼称する。本実施形態において、光センサ用部品100及び光センサ201の水平断面(XY断面)は、円形である。
 光センサと光センサ用部品とを組み合わせて固定するには、少なくとも3個のリブが存在するのが好ましい。
 光センサ用部品100は、ポリエチレンまたはポリプロピレンなどのプラスチックから形成される。
 本実施形態においては、リブ103の切り欠き部1031とセンサ201とが係合するように構成されているので、図2に示すように、内側レンズ面102の水平面(XY平面)への投影面積が、センサ201の水平面への投影面積よりも大きな場合であっても、アダプタ部品などを使用せずに光センサ用部品100とセンサ201とを組み合わせることができる。また、切り欠き部1031の中心軸方向の位置を調整することによって、レンズとセンサ201との間の距離(Z軸方向の距離)を定めることができる。
 図3は、光センサ用部品100の透視図である。
 図4は、本発明の他の実施形態による光センサ用部品100Aの平面図である。
 本実施形態において、光センサ用部品100Aの内側レンズ面は、周方向に、6個のレンズセグメント102A1、102A2、102A3、102A4、102A5及び102A6に分割されている。レンズをレンズセグメントに分割するのは、レンズセグメントごとに集光させる位置をかえて、異なるセンサで検出するためである。例として、光センサが、物体が発生する赤外線を検出する焦電型赤外線センサである場合に、このようにレンズセグメントごとに異なるセンサで検出することによって、人体の位置及びその変化を検出することができる。
 焦電型赤外線センサは、赤外線による温度変化により電荷が発生する焦電効果を利用したセンサである。光センサ用部品と組み合わせ焦電型赤外線センサは、たとえば、防犯用の壁面の電燈、トイレ、エアコンなどに使用されている。
 本実施形態において、光センサ用部品100Aは、6個のリブ103A1、103A2、103A3、103A4、103A5及び103A6を備える。6個のリブ103A1、103A2、103A3、103A4、103A5及び103A6は、6個のレンズセグメント102A1、102A2、102A3、102A4、102A5及び102A6の境界に沿ってその周縁部に設けられている。リブがレンズセグメントの境界に沿ってその周縁部に設けられているので、リブによる遮光の影響は限定的である。
 図5は、光センサ用部品100Aの透視図である。
 図6は、本発明の他の実施形態による光センサ用部品100Bの平面図である。
 本実施形態において、光センサ用部品100Bは、6個のリブ103B1、103B2、103B3、103B4、103B5及び103B6を備える。本実施形態において、光センサ用部品100Bの水平断面は円形である。本実施形態において、光センサ201Bは直方体形状であり、その水平断面は長方形である。6個のリブ103B1、103B2、103B3、103B4、103B5及び103B6の切り欠き部は、水平面が長方形のセンサ201Bの上面と係合するように形成される。
 図7は、光センサ用部品100Bの透視図である。
 図8は、本発明の他の実施形態による光センサ用部品100Cの平面図である。
 本実施形態において、光センサ用部品100Cは、6個のリブ103C1、103C2、103C3、103C4、103C5及び103C6を備える。本実施形態において、光センサ用部品100Bの水平断面は長方形である。本実施形態において、光センサ201Cは直方体形状であり、その水平断面は長方形である。6個のリブ103C1、103C2、103C3、103C4、103C5及び103C6の切り欠き部は、水平面が長方形のセンサ201Cの上面と係合するように形成される。
 このように、光センサ用部品及び光センサの水平断面は、どのような形状であってもよい。
 図9は、光センサ用部品100Cの透視図である。
 図10は、3個のリブを備えた光センサ用部品の金型の一実施形態を示す図である。光センサ用部品は、該金型を使用して、射出成形によって製造される。
 本実施形態による金型は、3個のレンズセグメント用金型501A1、501A2及び501A3、周縁部用金型601ならびに外側金型701から形成される。図3に関連して説明したように、リブはレンズセグメントに沿ってその周縁部に形成されるので、本実施形態において、レンズセグメント用金型501A1、501A2及び501A3の周縁部にそれぞれリブ用金型形状が形成される。
 このようにリブ用金型形状がレンズセグメント用金型の周縁部に形成されるので、リブ用金型形状が金型の凹部として形成される場合よりも金型の加工が容易になる。
 3個のレンズセグメント用金型501A1、501A2及び501A3ならびに周縁部用金型601は、リブの位置を合わせるように位置合わせされ、その外側に外側金型701が設置され、射出成形が行われる。
 図11は、6個のリブを備えた光センサ用部品の金型の一実施形態を示す図である。光センサ用部品は、該金型を使用して、射出成形によって製造される。
 本実施形態による金型は、6個のレンズセグメント用金型501B1、501B2、501B3、501B4、501B5及び501B6、周縁部用金型601ならびに外側金型701から形成される。図3に関連して説明したように、リブはレンズセグメントに沿ってその周縁部に形成されるので、本実施形態において、レンズセグメント用金型501B1、501B2、501B3、501B4、501B5及び501B6の周縁部にそれぞれリブ用金型形状が形成される。
 このようにリブ用金型形状がレンズセグメント用金型の周縁部に形成されるので、リブ用金型形状が金型の凹部として形成される場合よりも金型の加工が容易になる。
 6個のレンズセグメント用金型501B1、501B2、501B3、501B4、501B5及び501B6ならびに周縁部用金型601は、リブの位置を合わせるように位置合わせされ、その外側に外側金型701が設置され、射出成形が行われる。
 上記のような金型を使用することにより、レンズからなる上面と、側面と、リブと、を含む光センサ用部品を、射出成形によって一体的に成形することができる。
 ここで留意すべき点は、周縁部用金型601及び外側金型701は、異なるレンズセグメント用金型に対して共通に使用することができる点である。レンズセグメント用金型と周縁部用金型を分けることにより、用途に合わせて種々のレンズを備えた光センサ用部品を効率的に製造することができる。
 図12は、光センサ用部品の実施例の構成を示す図である。図12(a)、図12(b)、図12(c)及び図12(d)は、それぞれ、平面図、側面図、下面図及び平面図におけるA-A断面図である。
 図12(c)に示すように、光センサ用部品100Dは、4個のレンズセグメント101Dの境界に沿って形成された、4個のリブ103Dを備えている。4個のレンズセグメント101Dは、個別の形状を備えている。4個のリブ103Dは、光センサに係合するように形成されている。
 本実施例において、切り欠き部が光センサの上面と当たる面の面積の合計Aは0.95平方ミリメートル、光センサの上面の面積Bは22.1平方ミリメートルであり、比A/Bは0.043である。また、光センサのパッケージの光入射面と側面との間の一辺の長さは4.7ミリメートル、該辺に配置されるリブの幅は0.95ミリメートルであり、該辺の長さに対する該幅の比は、20.2%である。
 図13は、光センサ用部品100Dの透視図である。
 本発明の光センサ用部品は、光電センサなど他の光センサにも広く使用することができる。光電センサは、物体の有無の検出などの用途で広く使用されている。

Claims (8)

  1.  光センサと組み合わせて使用される、一体成形された筒状の光センサ用部品であって、筒の一方の端面には、該光センサが組み合わされ、筒の他方の端部は、外部からの光を該光センサに集光させるレンズ部からなり、筒の内側において、筒の周方向の少なくとも3箇所に、該レンズ及び筒の内側面に連なる複数のリブを備えた光センサ用部品。
  2.  前記複数のリブは切り欠き部を有し、各リブの切り欠き部の位置によって前記レンズと前記光センサとの距離が決定されるように構成された請求項1に記載の光センサ用部品。
  3.  前記複数のリブにおいて、前記切り欠き部が前記光センサのパッケージの上面と当たる面の面積の合計をA、前記光センサの上面の面積をBとして、
     0.03 ≦ A/B ≦ 0.20
    を満たす請求項2に記載の光センサ用部品。
  4.  直方体形状のパッケージの光センサと組み合わせて使用される光センサ用部品であって、該パッケージの四つの側面のうち少なくとも二つの側面のそれぞれに対し複数のリブが配置された請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の光センサ用部品。
  5.  直方体形状のパッケージの光センサと組み合わせて使用される光センサ用部品であって、該パッケージの四つの側面のうち少なくとも二つの側面と該パッケージの光入射面との間の辺に対し、それぞれ15パーセント以上の領域を占めるようにリブが配置された請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の光センサ用部品。
  6.  前記レンズが複数のレンズセグメントに分割され、前記複数のリブは、前記複数のレンズセグメントの複数の境界に沿って、前記レンズ部に連なるように形成された請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の光センサ用部品。
  7.  前記光センサが焦電型赤外線センサである請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の光センサ用部品。
  8.  光センサと組み合わせて使用される筒状の光センサ用部品であって、筒の一方の端面には、該光センサが組み合わされ、筒の他方の端部は、外部からの光を該光センサに集光させるレンズ部からなり、筒の内側において、筒の周方向の少なくとも3箇所に、該レンズ部及び筒の内側面に連なる複数のリブを備え、前記レンズ部が複数のレンズセグメントに分割され、前記複数のリブは、前記複数のセグメントの複数の境界に沿って、前記レンズ部に連なるように形成された光センサ用部品に使用される光センサ用部品用金型であって、該筒の内側レンズ面、内側側面及び該光センサが組み合わされる開放部分の端面を形成する金型は、前記光センサのレンズ部分に対応する第1の金型部分と、前記光センサのレンズの周縁部に対応する第2の金型部分と、を含み、第1の金型部分は、前記複数のセグメントに対応する複数の部分からなり、リブに対応する形状が前記複数の部分の周縁部に設けられ、第2の金型部分は貫通孔を有し、第1の金型部分を前記貫通孔に組み込んで使用するように構成された光センサ用部品用金型。
