Abstract
The invention relates to reverse transcriptases isolated from human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), group O, and altered at position 65 and/or position 75, which have a high copying fidelity and thermostability, as well as to use thereof for performing the reverse transcription, amplification or sequencing of a template nucleic acid. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining said reverse transcriptases. The invention further relates to a reverse transcription method, an amplification method, a sequencing method using the reverse transcriptases of the invention and to a kit comprising the elements necessary for carrying out said methods.
