Abstract
Disclosed is a brake system for motor vehicles, comprising a first cylinder-piston arrangement (2), the actuation piston (3) of which delimits a first hydraulic pressure chamber (6) and is coupled to a brake pedal via an actuation member (1) transmitting actuation forces, an electrically controlled pressure supply device (4), and at least two substantially parallel cylinder-disengagement piston arrangements (7a, 7b). A first surface of the movably arranged disengagement pistons (53a, 53b) of the cylinder-disengagement piston arrangements (7a, 7b) delimits an intake pressure chamber (51a, 51b), while a second surface of the disengagement pistons (53a, 53b) delimits a discharge pressure chamber (52a, 52b). The first surface of the disengagement piston of each cylinder-disengagement piston arrangement can be subjected (12) to a pressure generated by the pressure supply device (4), and each cylinder-disengagement piston arrangement can transfer a pressure exerted by the second surface of the disengagement piston to a brake circuit (I, II) comprising at least one wheel brake (5). The first hydraulic pressure chamber (6) is hydraulically connected (9) in a blockable manner to the intake pressure chambers (51a, 51b) of the cylinder-disengagement piston arrangements, and the discharge pressure chamber (52a, 52b) of each cylinder-disengagement piston arrangement is connected to the wheel brake or wheel brakes (5) of the associated brake circuit (I, II) by means of at least one electrically controlled pressure regulation valve (25, 25', 27, 27', 30) per wheel brake. A method for operating said brake system is also disclosed.
