Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for limiting biological growth and/or biological fouling, such as micro-organisms or small (fouling) growth, in fluids, comprising steps for: applying a sound generator for generating sound waves at preferably ultrasonic frequencies; generating by means of the sound generator sound waves with an intensity which causes damage to the biological growth; performing measurements in respect of the fluids for the purpose of obtaining at least one indicator value relating to the biological growth, and controlling the sound generator on the basis of the at least one indicator value.
