Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de diagnostic du diabète de la maturité chez un sujet jeune (MODY). Le procédé comprend la fourniture d'un échantillon de test contenant des glycanes prélevé sur le sujet ; la détermination d'un ou de plusieurs niveaux de fucosylation des glycanes dans l'échantillon de test ; la comparaison du ou des niveaux de fucosylation à une ou plusieurs valeurs de référence ; et la fourniture d'un diagnostic basé sur ladite comparaison. Ce procédé peut être utilisé pour différencier le MODY HNF1A et le MODY HNF4A d'autres types de diabètes de manière à ce que le traitement adapté puisse être prescrit au sujet.
