Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of ultrasound imaging, and more particularly to a Doppler color blood flow imaging method and apparatus.
- Ultrasound refers to mechanical waves with a frequency above 20 kHz and has a wide range of applications in medical diagnosis, ranging and flaw detection.
- Medical ultrasound generally includes modules such as transducers, transmitting and receiving circuits, and digital signal processing.
- the transducer converts the electrical signal into ultrasonic waves that are emitted into the body tissue.
- Ultrasound is transmitted in human tissues, and absorption, reflection, refraction, and scattering occur. A portion of the scattered signal is returned to the transducer and converted back to an analog electrical signal.
- the receiving circuit converts these received analog electrical signals into digital signals. Then, through the digital signal processing link, the useful information is extracted and then converted into an image signal that is easily recognized by the human eye.
- the propagation characteristics of ultrasound in various organs are different, so there is a certain difference in the energy of the scattered echoes received by the transducer.
- the transducer emits a pulse, and then according to the ultrasonic propagation speed, a series of echo amplitude data representing the depth can be acquired at different times.
- the transducer emits multiple pulses at different locations within the same slice, and a set of two-dimensional data representing the difference in ultrasonic scattering echo energy at different locations within the slice can be obtained.
- This energy difference can be mapped to different image gray levels to generate a two-dimensional black-and-white image (referred to as a two-dimensional image) that can describe the structure of the human tissue.
- the velocity information obtained from the autocorrelation estimation may be mapped to pseudo color information, and the generated pseudo color image may be referred to as a Doppler color blood flow image (hereinafter referred to as a blood flow image).
- the energy information obtained from the autocorrelation estimation can also be mapped to pseudo color information, and the generated pseudo color image can be referred to as an energy image.
- the medium of motion that doctors care about is mainly blood, but not only blood movement can produce Doppler effect, tissue movement can also produce Doppler effect (such as breathing). Therefore, special techniques are needed to remove Doppler information generated by non-blood movements in order to make it easier for doctors to diagnose.
- data from autocorrelation contains three mechanisms of production: normal noise, non-blood motion, and blood movement. Both normal and non-blood movements are not required by doctors when assessing blood movements.
- the causes of ordinary noise are complex, such as sound wave attenuation and reflection, inaccurate focus, and circuit thermal noise. Ordinary noise is not generated by the Doppler effect, so the energy value is lower after wall filtering and can usually be identified by setting the energy threshold method.
- Noise caused by non-blood motion is called motion artifacts and is usually caused by the Doppler effect, such as breathing, movement of the myocardial wall, tissue motion, and probe movement.
- the signals produced by blood movements are called blood flow signals.
- Typical blood flow signals and motion artifacts have their own characteristics and are easy to distinguish; but some blood flow signals and motion artifacts have similar characteristics (such as similar energy and Speed), so it is not easy to remove by traditional methods.
- Blood flow identification technology plays an important role in medical ultrasound, so many methods are used to identify blood flow signals.
- the most basic method is to set the energy threshold, which is recognized as a blood flow signal above the threshold; below the threshold is identified as noise. This method has a significant effect on conventional noise with lower energy, but the effect of suppressing motion artifacts with higher energy is not obvious.
- the second method is to increase the cutoff frequency of the wall filter. This method has a certain inhibitory effect on motion artifacts. However, some motion artifacts have a high frequency, and simply increasing the wall filter cutoff frequency cannot be completely filtered out. In addition, choosing the right cutoff frequency is also a difficult problem to handle. Excessive cutoff frequencies will filter out some low-speed blood flow signals.
- the third method is to perform two autocorrelation estimations on the quadrature demodulated signal, one wall filtering and the other without wall filtering. The results of the two estimates are then compared and motion artifacts are then identified.
- This method can accurately identify a part of the motion artifacts, but in some cases, the blood flow signal is also related before and after the wall filtering. Therefore, this method can easily identify the blood flow signal as a motion artifact, resulting in an erroneous processing result.

- Characteristic parameters including blood flow velocity, blood flow variance, and blood flow energy.
- the invention divides the information obtained by high-pass filtering and feature estimation into four kinds, as shown in FIG. 3A, which are: ordinary noise, similar signals (blood flow signals and motion artifacts with similar characteristics), independent blood flow. Signal and independent motion artifacts.
- the ordinary noise energy is low and can be distinguished by an energy threshold, which can be set in any step after the autocorrelation, or after the blood flow signal synthesis is completed.
- an energy threshold can be set in any step after the autocorrelation, or after the blood flow signal synthesis is completed.
- independent blood flow signals and independent motion artifacts they are easy to extract separately because of their independent characteristics.
- the independent motion artifact has the characteristics of low speed and high energy.
- FIG. 3B it can be identified by setting the speed threshold and the energy threshold; and the independent blood flow signal has the characteristics of high speed and moderate energy, as shown in FIG.
- the recognition accuracy is high and should be given priority.
- the recognition accuracy is high and should be given priority.
- it can be decomposed into the motion artifacts shown in Figure 3D and the blood flow signals shown in Figure 3E. Both have similar speed and energy ranges. Therefore, it is necessary to use the characteristics before and after wall filtering for comprehensive evaluation.
- the blood flow signal is separated from the motion artifacts.
- variance features can also be used to distinguish between various signals.
- the independent blood flow signal and the independent motion artifact have smaller variance (such as the normalized value is less than 0.5), and the ordinary noise has a larger variance (such as the normalized value is greater than 0.5).
- the variance characteristics of similar signals are more complicated and not easy to measure directly.
- Figure 4A shows the characteristics of a blood flow signal without motion artifacts, with normal noise predominating before wall filtering. However, after wall filtering, as shown in FIG. 4B, the blood flow signal is dominant.
- Figure 5A shows the characteristics of a motion artifact without blood flow. Before wall filtering, common noise and motion artifacts jointly affect the frequency offset estimation; but after wall filtering, as shown in Figure 5B, only there is no filtering. Clean motion artifacts affect parameter estimation.
- the velocity value at a certain point after wall filtering is high (such as the normalized velocity value is greater than 0.3), and the energy satisfies the blood flow signal range, it can be considered as an independent blood flow signal, and the blood flow signal range needs to be based on the actual system.
- Customization such as normalized blood flow, has an energy value between 0.3 and 0.8. If the energy of a certain point after wall filtering is larger than the energy of the blood flow signal (such as the normalized energy value is greater than 0.8) and the speed value is lower (such as the normalized speed value is less than 0.3), Can be considered as an independent motion artifact.
- the wall-filtered motion artifact energy is similar to the blood flow signal, and the velocity is also in the blood flow velocity interval (eg, the normalized velocity value is greater than 0.3), it is considered a similar signal.
- a dynamic threshold method is needed to distinguish (see below).
- the dynamic velocity threshold can be calculated using the estimated tissue velocity values before wall filtering to distinguish between motion artifacts and blood flow signals.
- the dynamic threshold of the tissue can be calculated using the energy and variance of the tissue, and the energy and variance of the blood flow can be judged to analyze whether it is a blood flow signal.
- the dynamic velocity threshold can be calculated based on the estimated tissue velocity value before wall filtering to identify the blood flow signal in the similar signal. According to the above description, it is set that if the wall-filtered speed value is greater than the corresponding dynamic speed threshold, it is considered to be a blood flow signal, and vice versa, it is considered as a motion artifact, and the motion artifact needs to be eliminated. Only the blood flow signal is finally retained.
- tissue velocity, tissue variance, and tissue energy need to be weighted to correspond to blood flow velocity, blood flow variance, and blood flow energy, ie, numerically corresponding.
- Weighting can be done using a method such as aX+b, X can be expressed as velocity, energy or variance, and a and b are weighting parameters.
- non-linear methods can be used for weighting, such as aX2+bX+c, threshold method, etc., to obtain dynamic threshold parameters.
- the three physical parameters of the tissue velocity, the tissue variance and the tissue energy are weighted to obtain three dynamic thresholds: a dynamic velocity threshold, a dynamic variance threshold, and a dynamic energy threshold.
- the velocity of the tissue before the wall filtering is the autocorrelation frequency offset of 0.075.
- the velocity dynamic threshold is 0.15
- the velocity is 0.29, which is greater than the velocity dynamic threshold of 0.15. Therefore, this part of the information is a blood flow signal.
- the velocity of the tissue before the wall filtering that is, the autocorrelation frequency offset is 0.06
- the velocity dynamic threshold is 0.12
- the velocity is 0.11, which is smaller than the velocity dynamic threshold of 0.12. So this part of the information is a motion artifact.
- the integrated blood flow signal is combined with the blood flow signal identified from the similar signal to obtain a filled blood flow signal.
- the filled blood flow signal can be mapped to a pseudo color image using the velocity feature, or the energy feature can be mapped to a pseudo color image to finally obtain a Doppler color blood flow image.
- the Doppler color blood flow image and the two-dimensional image are superimposed to generate a final display image.

Description

图4A和4B是一种血流信号壁滤波前后的归一化频谱特征图;

步骤S510:对正交解调后的复信号进行包络检测处理得到B型二维信号,并将B型二维信号映射成B型二维图像;
