Abstract

본 발명은 포지티브 A의 굴절률 이방성을 나타내는 층이 형성된 네거티브 A 플레이트를 포함하는 수평배향 모드 액정표시장치에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 특정의 광학 특성을 갖는 연신형 포지티브 A 플레이트 또는 네마틱 액정이 수평 배열된 코팅층이 형성된 네거티브 A 플레이트가 편광자의 액정셀 쪽 면에 접합된 편광판을 상판 또는 하판 편광판으로 포함함으로써 높은 수율로 손쉽게 제조할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 명암비, 시야각 및 컬러 시프트 특성을 동시에 개선시킬 수 있는 수평배향 모드 액정표시장치에 관한 것이다.
