Definitions
- the present invention relates to a facial unilent with the ability to protect a person's face from the effects of ultraviolet rays from solar energy and other harmful elements such as powders, chemicals, solvents and enamels.
- Glasses or sunglasses are much more than a fashion accessory because they protect our eyes from damage that can be really serious.
- the radiation emitted by the sun includes a broad spectrum of frequencies, including infrared (IR), visible light and ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
- UV rays are not visible to the human eye and are harmful to both eyes and skin and the effects may not manifest immediately.
- Sun spots are the result of long exposure to UV rays. These flat and brown spots appear on areas of the body that are most exposed to the sun, especially the face, hands and arms. They are unsightly and are often accompanied by other types of sun damage, such as rough skin, wrinkles, brittle skin and pigmentation problems. Any of these disorders can produce signs of premature skin aging, even in surprisingly young patients.
- a perceived problem is that the glasses in the market have been developed preferably for the eye region, and little has been developed for complete protection of the face.
- PCT / US89 / 01629 describes a face mask that has an eye protection attached to its upper margin.
- An adjustable band may have been included on the sides of the transparent eye protection part.
- the eye protection is intended to be retained in a fixed position close to the user's face, with pads that allow keeping the eye protection from the face separate.
- US 6,374,424 B1 describes a facial mask comprising a hard plastic mask, to block solar energy, shaped and sized to extend completely over the person's face, said hard plastic face mask, composed of an outer convex face and a Inner concave face, includes a nose guard and the mask copes with the shape of the nose and its holes and also a small opening at the level of the mouth.
- Said invention presents the problem of the lack of ventilation of the user and does not avoid breathing contaminated atmospheres directly.
- the present invention presents improvements in the limitations of the inventions described in the state of the art, by providing a face protection adapted to a quick and convenient adjustment for the user.
- the unilent is placed on the face without needing the cover to come into physical contact with it, it can allow to see the face of the person wearing it, but prevents the breath or saliva from leaving its mouth and cross the screen.
- the present invention has the advantage that the unilent after use can be easily disinfected and washed for reuse.
- the screen can be manufactured with materials similar to conventional lenses, with the possibility of proposing various designs, in addition to different models of sunscreen screens and with the option of including ophthalmic graduation.
- Figure 1 is a front perspective view of a preferred embodiment of a full face unilent according to the present invention.
- Figure 2 in a front view of the present invention of a user wearing the protective mask on the face.
- Figure 3 is a side elevational view showing the support where the nose and adjustable fastening means from the user's ears.
- Figure 4 is a perspective view of an embodiment of a full face unilent where the mask has the possibility of bending to form two similar sections.
- Figure 5 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the unilent arm.
- the unilent of the present invention includes a concave face mask (11), with wide coverage ranging from the eyebrows to the chin, in its vertical plane, and from cheekbone to cheekbone of the face, in its horizontal plane.
- the material of the mask (11) must be resistant, transparent and must have a weight not much higher than that of conventional glasses.
- Useful materials include polyether, such as poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET), polyoletins, such as polyethylene or its copolymeters, polycarbonate, polyacylates, such as poly (methyl methacrylate), poly (ethyl acrylate) or its copolimeters and cellulosic compounds. Such as cellulose acetate butyrate.
- the protective mask (1 1) of thermoplastic material is preferably flexible enough to adapt to the contour of the user's face, from the contour upper (17) at the top of the eyebrows, to the lower contour (16) below the chin. Between said points of the mask (16 and 17), there should be sufficient space from the user's face to allow air circulation in said space.
- the unilent includes the arms (14) fixed to the mask (11) from fastening means (13) that can be conventional like those of any eye lens.
- Said arms (14) can also be of the conventional type that is held from the ears (18) of the user, but with the advantage that they can vary in size to adapt to the shape of the user's head.
- Figure 5 shows the details of the arm of the unilente (21), formed by a wedge channel (22) and a retractable handle (23) that will adjust to the appropriate size for the comfort of the user.
- Said arm (21) can be attached to the mask (1 1) by means of the hinge (24).
- the unilent of the invention further includes a support device (12) that adapts to the nose (15) of the user.
- Said support device (12) is fixed to the mask (11) and includes means that allow it to enlarge or reduce its size in order to achieve a comfortable adaptation of the mask to the user.
- the mask (26) is composed of two similar parts joined by an upper hinge (27) and a lower one (25), both preferably constructed of the same plastic material of the mask.
