Abstract

본 발명은 전력손실 및 발열을 최소화하기 위한 LED 전원공급장치 및 LED 전원공급방법에 관한 것으로, 적어도 하나 이상의 LED 소자를 포함하는 LED모듈, 상기 LED모듈을 구성하는 상기 LED소자에 정전류가 인가되도록 SMPS로부터 출력되는 전원을 공급받아 상기 LED모듈에 전압을 인가하는 LED구동모듈 및 상기 LED모듈에 공급되는 전류의 값을 일정하게 조절하는 상기 LED구동모듈의 동작최소전압을 초과하는 전압값을 검출하여 손실전력을 최소화하도록 상기 SMPS의 출력전압을 제어하는 제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 이에 의해, 스위칭방식 또는 리니어 방식의 정전류제어회로를 적용한 LED구동회로를 사용한 LED를 위한 전원공급장치의 문제점인 효율의 저하와 발열을 해결하기 위해 LED 전압의 변동에 따라 LED에 공급되는 전력의 전압을 자동조절하여 전력의 손실과 발열을 최소화하는 효과를 제공한다.
