Abstract
Description
I0:バックライトから出射され第1偏光板に入射する光の強度
rs1:第1偏光板のS偏光反射率
rp1:第1偏光板のP偏光反射率
rs2:第2偏光板のS偏光反射率
rp2:第2偏光板のP偏光反射率
rs2’:反射防止膜のS偏光反射率
rp2’:反射防止膜のP偏光反射率
As:偏光板のS偏光吸収率
Ap:偏光板のP偏光吸収率
DPS:偏光解消率P偏光→S偏光
DSP:偏光解消率S偏光→P偏光
It:観察者側に出射される光の強度(液晶パネルを透過した光の強度)
(I0/2)(1-rs1)+(I0/2)(1-rp1)
となる。なお、バックライトから出射される光は非偏光であるので、S偏光とP偏光とを50%(=I0/2)ずつ含む。なお、S偏光は入射面(方位角0°-180°方向)に垂直(図2(b)、(c)では紙面に垂直)に振動する偏光であり、P偏光は入射面内(図2(b)、(c)では紙面に平行)で振動する偏光である。

となる。第1項は殆どゼロであり、第2項だけを考えればよい。すなわち、液晶セル52内にはP偏光だけが入射すると考えることができる。

D:AGLR(ヘイズ率13.0%、低反射コーティング:反射率約1%)
E:クリアモス(ヘイズ率0.5%、モスアイ型反射防止層:反射率0.1%以下)
F:低ヘイズモス(ヘイズ率1.7%、モスアイ型反射防止層:反射率0.1%以下)
G:高ヘイズモス(ヘイズ率30.0%、モスアイ型反射防止層:反射率0.1%以下)

Claims (6)
- ノーマリブラックモードで表示が可能な液晶表示パネルであって、
液晶層と一対の基板を有する液晶セルと、
前記液晶セルの背面側に配置された第1偏光板と、
前記液晶セルの観察者側に配置された第2偏光板と、
前記第2偏光板の観察者側に配置されたモスアイ構造を有する反射防止層と
を備え、
前記第1偏光板の透過軸は表示面内の垂直方向に平行に配置され、前記第2偏光板の透過軸は表示面内の水平方向に平行に配置されている、液晶表示パネル。 - 前記液晶表示パネルは、垂直配向モード、IPSモード、または、ブルー相モードである、請求項1に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記液晶セルの表示面内の水平方向の長さは、垂直方向の長さよりも大きい、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第2偏光板の観察者側に配置された防眩層をさらに有し、前記防眩層のヘイズ率は10%未満である、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記防眩層は前記反射防止層と一体に形成されている、請求項4に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネルと、
前記第1偏光板のさらに背面側に設けられたバックライト装置と
を備える液晶表示装置。
