Abstract

The invention is based on a motor vehicle drive system having a charging device (10a; 10b) which is provided for charging an accumulator device (11a; 11b) by means of an external power network and which has at least one multi-phase rectifier circuit (12a; 12b) which is provided for converting an alternating voltage of the external power network into a direct voltage. It is proposed that the charging device (10a; 10b) have a switching unit (13a; 13b) which is provided for switching the rectifier circuit (12a; 12b) optionally for a single-phase charging mode or a multi-phase charging mode.
