Abstract

The invention is based on a motor vehicle drive system having a charging device (10a; 10b) which is provided for charging an accumulator device (11a; 11b) by means of an external power network and which has at least one multi-phase rectifier circuit (12a; 12b) which is provided for converting an alternating voltage of the external power network into a direct voltage, and having an electric drive machine (13a; 13b) which has at least two motor coils (15a, 16a, 17a; 15b, 16b, 17b) which are combined at a star point (14a; 14b). It is proposed that the rectifier circuit (12a; 12b) be electrically connected to the star point (14a; 14b) of the drive machine (13a; 13b) in at least one operating mode.
