Description
COSMETIC PRODUCT FOR THE TREATMENT OF CICATRICIAL TISSUES AND METHOD FOR THE USE THEREOF
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues and its utilization procedure.
Background Art
The use of cyanoacrylate for the treatment of scars is known from the international patent application WO2008059541, having the title "Cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues."
In particular, the cosmetic product proposed in the cited patent application is able to immobilize the cicatricial tissues and those that are directly proximate to them, it has an antibacterial function on said tissues, it makes the tissues waterproof while maintaining optimum levels of humidity and temperature, thus creating a microenvironment that is favorable for the healing of the scar (in which there is minimal exchange with the outside). The product according to the cited patent application, furthermore, efficiently protects from impacts the cicatricial tissues and the tissues which are directly proximate thereto, constituting a sort of mechanically rigid protective dome able to dehydrate the tissues during the heating caused by polymerization, eliminating thermolabile toxins and bacteria.
Such product therefore has numerous advantages compared to all the previous solutions adopted for the cosmetic treatment of cicatricial tissues.
Following an in depth experimentation, it has been found that not all the possible cyanoacrylate-based formulations allow for particularly satisfying results.
Analogously, also with regard to the procedure for executing the treatment, a long experimentation was done to identify the steps, their duration and the correct method of application.
Disclosure of the Invention
The aim of the present invention is to solve the above mentioned
drawbacks, by providing a cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues that is particularly efficient.
Within this aim, an object of the invention is to propose a utilization procedure for the cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues that is particularly efficient.
Another object of the invention is to provide a utilization procedure for the cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues which is simple and can be immediately executed.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues and its utilization procedure which has a low cost, is relatively simple to provide in practice and safe in application.
This aim and these and other objects, which will become better apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues characterised in that said product contains n-butyl cyanoacrylate in a percentage comprised between 95% and 99.99% compared to the total weight and a pigment in a percentage comprised between 0.01% and 5% compared to the total weight.
Such aim and objects are also achieved by virtue of a utilization procedure of a cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues that consists in executing the first application of the product on cicatricial tissues only after the restoration of cutaneous continuity, meaning at least 3 days after the removal of the surgical sutures.
Ways of carrying out the Invention
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of the cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues and the utilization procedure thereof according to the invention.
The cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues according to the invention comprises n-butyl cyanoacrylate in a percentage comprised
between 95% and 99.99% compared to the total weight and a pigment in a percentage comprised between 0.01% and 5% compared to the total weight.
More specifically, in the product according to the invention the substance referred to as n-butyl cyanoacrylate is present in a percentage comprised between 99% and 99.99% compared to the total weight.
Consequently, the pigment will be present in a percentage comprised between 0.01% and 1% compared to the total weight.
It should be noted that the product according to the invention has a density equal to 1.05 g/cm3.
The product according to the invention furthermore has a viscosity equal to 5 mPa.s, millipascal per second, which corresponds to 5 cP, centipoise.
In order to make the application of the product simpler and faster, said product exhibits a time necessary to achieve the complete mechanical resistance, defined in the technical field specifically as "cure speed", which is not greater than 120 seconds: this will guarantee the operator the correct application of the product on the patient in a short time and using a simple method that is described below.
The pigment preferably used in the product according to the invention is of the commercial type called "D-C violet".
It is appropriate to mention that, in order to simplify the application of the product and avoid the occurrence of erroneous dosages, the product is provided in a kit which comprises a phial containing the product, a nozzle for the emission of the product from the phial with an adjustable flow and at least one tool for spreading the product on the surface to be treated.
According to an embodiment of unquestionable practical and applicative interest, the phial is made with deformable material and the nozzle is rigidly fixed to the mouth of the phial.
The nozzle, which is shaped as a cone, has its larger sized opening coupled to the mouth while the other opening is open towards the outside.
The compression of the phial by the operator will thus determine the exit of the product from the phial, the passage of the product in the nozzle and its emission from the end opening which is calibrated by the nozzle.
The end opening will have a reduced diameter to avoid the excessive exit of the product: in any case the operator will have the possibility of modifying the size of the end opening should it be necessary to increase the amount of product leaving the phial in coincidence with the compression of the phial.
It is further specified that, according to an embodiment of unquestionable practical and applicative interest, the tool for spreading the product on the surface to be treated is constituted by a spatula of small dimensions which is made preferably in a polymeric material.
The possibility is not excluded however of adopting other tools for example small brushes and the like.
The utilization procedure of the product according to the invention consists in distributing the product on the surface to be treated, covering also the areas neighboring the scar, for the formation of a continuous film.
It is fundamental, in order to have the optimum efficiency of the treatment, to execute further and repeated distributions of the product at a periodic rate, for a total period of treatment comprised between 2 and 8 months: it should be noted that the ideal total treatment period (within the scope of the period previously cited) which was verified following experimentation is between 3 and 5 months.
In order to provide a stable and sufficiently rigid film to efficiently immobilize the cicatricial tissues, it is appropriate to distribute the product in several superimposed layers at each periodic application.
According to a possible applicative embodiment, it should be pointed out that it is appropriate to provide a periodic rate of application of the product where the next application occurs only after a period comprised between 3 and 7 days from the preceding one.
In order to avoid the contact of the product with tissues that have not completely healed, it is fundamental to execute the first application of the product on the cicatricial tissues only after the restoration of the cutaneous continuity, i.e. at least 3 days after the removal of the surgical sutures.
Advantageously the present invention resolves the problems previously mentioned, providing a cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues that is particularly efficient.
Usefully, the utilization procedure for the cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues is also particularly efficient.
Positively, the utilization procedure for the cosmetic product for the treatment of cicatricial tissues provides a simple and immediate execution.
The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the inventive concept. Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.
In the embodiments illustrated, individual characteristics, shown in relation to specific examples may in reality be interchanged with other, different characteristics, existing in other embodiments.
In additional, it should be noted that anything found to be already known during the patenting process is understood not to be claimed and to be the subject of a disclaimer.
In practice, the materials employed, as well as the dimensions, may be any according to requirements and the state of the art.
