Abstract
System for an electric vehicle with minimal battery pack, which gives the vehicle user the option of extending the vehicle's range and charging its battery pack away from power points by the easy assembly of an onboard electricity generating means from an engine (4), an electrical generator (7) and a fuel tank (6), all or some of which may be hand portable and removable. The onboard electricity generating means may comprise a permanently installed electrical generator (7) (dynamo or alternator) to which a hand portable and removable engine (4) is coupled, with this engine (4) receiving fuel from a hand portable and removable fuel tank (6) via a permanently installed electric fuel pump (5). A vehicle using the present invention may accommodate more than one such fuel tank. The present invention, with some modifications, may be applied to electric bicycles.
