  • the representative image is continuously displayed on the display or the like as the moving image content or a thumbnail indicating each position in the moving image content. That is, the representative image has many opportunities to be exposed to the eyes of a third party or an operator when content is played back. Therefore, the representative image is desirably an image having contents suitable for viewing by a third party or an operator or an image having contents suitable for viewing.
  • Patent Document 1 only performs representative image determination in consideration of image quality. Therefore, an image in which a person's eyes and mouth are half open or a part or the whole of the screen is blurred may be determined as the representative image. In other words, it is inevitable that an image that is not suitable for viewing by a third party or an operator or an image that is not suitable for viewing will continue to be displayed. Description

Content reproduction apparatus, content reproduction method, and content reproduction program
The present invention relates to a content reproduction apparatus, a content reproduction method, and a content reproduction program for reproducing moving image content.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a content playback apparatus that plays back video content, when a pause or stop operation for video playback is performed, an image that was played back at the operation time can be displayed as a representative image of the video content. Has been done. Thereby, the user can confirm the content of the moving image content where the reproduction is resumed prior to the reproduction.
However, if the image quality of the representative image is poor, it is difficult to confirm the content of the moving image content. Therefore, when a pause operation is performed, the apparatus described in Patent Document 1 determines the closest high-resolution image as a representative image instead of the image at the operation time. Thereby, the user can confirm the content of moving image content more reliably.
International Publication No. 1998/041978
By the way, when a pause operation is performed, the representative image remains displayed on the display or the like until an operation to resume playback is performed. When the stop operation is performed, the representative image is continuously displayed on the display or the like as the moving image content or a thumbnail indicating each position in the moving image content. That is, the representative image has many opportunities to be exposed to the eyes of a third party or an operator when content is played back. Therefore, the representative image is desirably an image having contents suitable for viewing by a third party or an operator or an image having contents suitable for viewing.
However, the apparatus described in Patent Document 1 only performs representative image determination in consideration of image quality. In order to avoid this, it is necessary to perform a pause operation or a stop operation while carefully checking the content of the moving image and timing it. However, it is very difficult for the user to reliably perform this operation.
An object of the present invention is to provide a content playback device, a content playback method, and a content playback program that can improve the comfort of operation.

The section includes a range determination unit that determines a predetermined range based on the operation time on the condition that a predetermined operation has been performed, a person who is not blurred from the determined range, and is a person An image determining unit that determines an image whose eyes and mouth are not half-opened as a representative image of the moving image content.
The content reproduction method of the present invention includes a step of reproducing moving image content, a step of inputting an operation related to reproduction of the moving image content, and a predetermined operation based on the operation time on condition that the predetermined operation has been performed. A step of determining a range; and a step of determining, from the determined range, an image that is not blurred and has a person's eyes and mouth that are not half-opened as a representative image of the moving image content.
The content reproduction program of the present invention is based on the operation time on the condition that a process for reproducing moving image content, a process for inputting an operation related to reproduction of the moving image content, and a predetermined operation are performed on a computer. A process for determining a predetermined range to be performed, and a process for determining, from the determined range, an image that is not blurred and whose eyes and mouth are not half-opened as a representative image of the video content Is executed.
According to the present invention, it is possible to determine, as a representative image, an image that is not blurred and has a person's eyes and mouth that are not half-opened while using the operation time as a reference. As a result, the present invention eliminates the need to worry about the timing of the operation and the eyes of a third party, and can improve the comfort of the operation.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
コンテンツ再生装置100は、例えば、動画コンテンツを録画再生するDVD(digital versatile disc)レコーダである。
(Embodiment 1)
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a configuration of a content reproduction apparatus according to Embodiment 1 of the present invention. The content playback apparatus 100 is, for example, a DVD (digital versatile disc) recorder that records and plays back video content.
The storage unit 200 of the content reproduction apparatus 100 is a predetermined memory area of a hard disk drive, for example, and stores moving image content.
The input unit 300 of the content reproduction apparatus 100 is a remote controller including a plurality of key switches, for example, and receives an operation input to the content reproduction apparatus 100 from the user.
The output unit 400 of the content reproduction device 100 is, for example, a liquid crystal display device, and outputs images and sound.
The content playback unit 500 of the content playback device 100 includes, for example, a processor and a storage medium such as a RAM (random access memory), and the processor executes a control program to play back moving image content.
The reproduction unit 510 of the content reproduction unit 500 reads the moving image content from the storage unit 200, performs predetermined decoding processing to reproduce the video and audio of the moving image content, and causes the output unit 400 to output the reproduced video and audio.
The control unit 520 of the content reproduction unit 500 inputs an operation related to reproduction of moving image content from the input unit 300, and controls reproduction of the moving image content in the reproduction unit 510 in accordance with the input operation.
The range determination unit 521 of the control unit 520 determines that a predetermined range based on the operation time is determined as a reference for the operation time (hereinafter, “processing target range”). Determined).
The image determination unit 522 of the control unit 520 displays an image that is not blurred and has a person's eyes and mouth not half-opened from the processing target range determined by the range determination unit 521. To decide.
The above-described predetermined operations that trigger the determination of the representative image are, for example, a pause operation and a stop operation for moving image playback. The representative image is displayed, for example, as an image displayed during the pause, or as a thumbnail indicating the moving image content or each position in the moving image content.
Such a content reproduction apparatus 100 determines, as a representative image, an image that is not blurred and whose eyes and mouth are not half-opened from the processing target range based on the operation time. Therefore, according to the content reproduction apparatus 100, the user does not have to worry about the timing of the operation or the eyes of a third party, so that the operation can be performed more comfortably.
Next, the operation of the content reproduction apparatus 100 will be described.
FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the overall operation of the content reproduction apparatus 100.
First, in step S1000, in response to a user operation or the like, the control unit 520 causes the playback unit 510 to start reading and playback of moving image content.
In step S2000, control unit 520 determines whether or not a predetermined operation has been performed. The predetermined operation is, for example, a pause operation and a stop operation for moving image reproduction. If the predetermined operation is not performed (S2000: NO), control unit 520 proceeds to step S3000. Further, when a predetermined operation is performed (S2000: YES), control unit 520 proceeds to step S4000.
In step S3000, the control unit 520 determines whether or not the end of the process is instructed by a user operation or the like. If the end of the process is not instructed (S3000: NO), the control unit 520 returns to step S2000.
In step S4000, the range determination unit 521 selects a predetermined range based on the operation time at which the predetermined operation is performed as the processing target range. For example, the range determination unit 521 selects, as the processing target range, a range immediately after the operation time, from the operation time to 1 second after the operation time.
In step S5000, the image determining unit 522 sets a non-blurred image, that is, an image in focus, as a representative image candidate image from the range determined by the range determining unit 521. Specifically, the image determination unit 522 detects a blurred image from the moving image content, and sets an image other than the detected image as a candidate image. The details of the method for detecting a blurred image are described in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-228620, and thus the description thereof is omitted here.
And in step S6000, the image determination part 522 excludes the image in which the person's eyes and mouth are half-opened from the candidate images. Specifically, the image determination unit 522 detects an image in which a person's eyes and mouth are half-opened from the moving image content, and excludes the detected image from the candidate images. Details of a method for detecting an image in which a person's eyes and mouth are half-opened from the moving image content are described in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-228620, and thus description thereof is omitted here.
In step S7000, the image determination unit 522 determines one representative image from the remaining candidate images. If there is no candidate image, the image determination unit 522 may determine the image at the operation time as a representative image, or widen the processing target range and re-execute the processes in steps S5000 to S7000.
And in step S8000, the control part 520 performs the process corresponding to the performed predetermined operation. For example, when the predetermined operation that has been performed is a pause operation, the control unit 520 continues to the representative image for which the moving image reproduction has been determined and then temporarily stops the display so that the representative image is displayed. When the operation for canceling the pause is further performed, the control unit 520 starts the moving image reproduction from the position of the representative image being displayed, for example.
Then, when the end of the process is instructed (S3000: YES), the control unit 520 ends the series of processes.
By such an operation, the content reproduction apparatus 100 determines, as a representative image, an image that is not blurred and has a person's eyes and mouth that are not half-opened from a predetermined range based on the operation time. Can do.
As described above, the content reproduction apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment uses, as a representative image, a blurred image or an image in which a person's eyes and mouth are half open during a predetermined operation such as a pause. It can be prevented from being determined. That is, it is possible to prevent the display of an image having a content that is not suitable for showing to a third party or an image having a content that is not suitable for viewing. Therefore, the content reproduction apparatus 100 allows the user to comfortably perform the operation without hesitation of a third party, and thus can improve the operation comfort.
(Embodiment 2)
Embodiment 2 of the present invention is an example in which an image at a time as close as possible to the operation time is determined as a representative image from the same scenes as the operation time scene. Content playback apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment has the same configuration as content playback apparatus 100 of Embodiment 1, but the operation of control unit 520 is different.
FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the overall operation of the content reproduction apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment, and corresponds to FIG. 2 of the first embodiment. The same steps as those in FIG. 2 are denoted by the same step numbers, and description thereof will be omitted.
When the range determination unit 521 temporarily determines the processing target range (S4000), in step S4100, a range obtained by excluding a scene different from the scene at the operation time (hereinafter referred to as “another scene”) from the processing target range is set as the processing target range. This will be decided. Then, the process proceeds to step S5000.
Specifically, the range determination unit 521 detects a scene switching position from the moving image content. Then, the range determining unit 521 excludes the range before the most recent switching position before the operation time and the range after the most recent switching position after the operation time as separate scenes from the processing target range. The scene switching position refers to a moment when the content of the image changes greatly, for example, a position where the program is switched to CM (commercial message) or a position where the video is switched from the studio video to the relay destination video in the news program. The details of the method for detecting the scene switching position from the moving image content are described in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-133830, and thus the description thereof is omitted here.
FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram showing a state where another scene is excluded.
As illustrated in FIG. 4, it is assumed that a temporary stop operation is performed as a predetermined operation, and a range from 2 seconds before the operation time 611 to 4 seconds after the operation time 611 is determined as the temporary processing target range 612. . In this processing target range 612, scene A, scene B, and scene C continue in this order, and operation time 611 is included in scene B. In this case, the range determination unit 521 excludes the scenes A and C, which are different scenes, and determines only the range of the scene B as the final processing target range 613.
∙ When an image of a scene different from the moment when the pause operation is performed is displayed as a representative image or the starting point of playback, it is difficult to grasp the content of the video content where playback is resumed. Therefore, the content reproduction apparatus 100 can further improve the comfort of operation by excluding such another scene.
Further, when the image determining unit 522 excludes a blurred image from the candidate images (S5000, S6000), in step S7100, an image with speech sound (hereinafter referred to as “image with sound”) is further extracted from the candidate images. exclude.
Specifically, the image determination unit 522 detects a range in which the speech sound is included from the sound of the moving image content, and excludes the image in the detected range from the candidate images. Then, the image determination unit 522 excludes the range before the most recent switching position before the operation time and the range after the most recent switching position after the operation time from the processing target range. Details of the detection method of the range accompanied by the utterance voice from the moving image content are described in, for example, Patent Document 5, and thus the description thereof is omitted here.
FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram showing a state of exclusion of an image with sound.
As shown in FIG. 5, it is assumed that the processing target range 622 is determined based on the operation time 621 of the pause operation. In addition, it is assumed that a plurality of candidate images 623 and a section 624 having a speech sound exist in the processing target range 622. In this case, the image determination unit 522 excludes candidate images 2, 4, and 6 that are images with sound and leaves candidate images 1, 3, and 5 that are not images with sound as candidate images.
Talk speech played from the middle is difficult to hear. The content reproduction apparatus 100 can always reproduce the speech sound from the beginning by excluding the image with sound as described above. Thereby, the content reproduction apparatus 100 does not require the user to worry about the operation timing in relation to the uttered voice, and can further improve the operation comfort.
As shown in FIG. 5, the operation time 621 is performed in the processing target range 622 in the section 624 where the uttered speech is present, and the candidate images (here, candidate images 1, 3 and 3 are included) before the start of the uttered speech. ) Exists, the candidate images after the operation time 621 (here, candidate image 5) may be further excluded. Thereby, the user can listen to the content of the uttered voice when the operation time 621 is performed.
Then, in step S7200 of FIG. 3, the image determination unit 522 determines an image closer to the operation time among the candidate images as a representative image, and proceeds to step S8000. For example, as described in the example of FIG. 5, when candidate images after the operation time are excluded, the image determination unit 522 selects the image of the latest time among the remaining candidate images (in FIG. 5). In the example, the candidate image 3) is determined as a representative image. As a result, the content playback apparatus 100 can minimize the number of sections that are played back repeatedly when playback is resumed, while ensuring ease of listening to the uttered voice.
Through such processing, the content reproduction apparatus 100 can determine, as a representative image, an image that is not only good in image quality but also easy to hear speech during reproduction and has high temporal closeness to the operation time. it can.
Thus, according to content reproduction apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment, when a scene is switched within the processing target range, an image of a scene different from the scene at the operation time is determined as the representative image. Can be prevented. Moreover, according to the content reproduction apparatus 100 which concerns on this Embodiment, it can prevent that an image with an audio | voice is determined as a representative image. Furthermore, according to content reproduction apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment, an image that is temporally closely related to the operation time can be determined as a representative image.
Therefore, the content playback apparatus 100 allows the user to perform an operation without worrying about the presence or absence of scene switching or the presence or absence of uttered speech, thereby further improving operational comfort.
(Embodiment 3)
As a third embodiment of the present invention, a content reproduction apparatus 100 corresponding to various specific operations will be described. Content playback apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment has the same configuration as content playback apparatus 100 of Embodiment 1, but the operation of control unit 520 is different.
In the present embodiment, operations input by the content reproduction apparatus 100 include a pause operation, a pause release operation, a stop operation, a designated reproduction operation, and a designation operation for content reproduction. The designated reproduction operation is an operation for displaying a list of moving image contents or thumbnails indicating respective positions in the moving image content. The designation operation is an operation for designating one of the thumbnails displayed in a list and instructing reproduction of the moving image content indicated by the designated thumbnail or the portion after the position of the moving image content.
FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing the overall operation of the content reproduction apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment, and corresponds to FIG. 2 of the first embodiment and FIG. 3 of the second embodiment. The same parts as those in FIGS. 2 and 3 are denoted by the same step numbers, and description thereof will be omitted.
Control unit 520 first determines whether or not a pause operation has been performed in step S2100 after starting the reproduction of the moving image content (S1000). If a pause operation is performed (S2100: YES), control unit 520 proceeds to step S2200. In addition, when the pause operation is not performed (S2100: NO), control unit 520 proceeds to step S2300.
In step S2200, control unit 520 executes a pause process and proceeds to step S3000. The temporary stop process will be described later.
In step 2300, the control unit 520 determines whether or not a stop operation has been performed. If a stop operation is performed (S2300: YES), control unit 520 proceeds to step S2400 and executes a stop process. The stop process will be described later. In addition, when the stop operation is not performed (S2300: NO), control unit 520 proceeds to step S3000 as it is.
In step S2500, control unit 520 determines whether or not a designated reproduction operation has been performed. When the designated reproduction operation is performed (S2500: YES), control unit 520 proceeds to step S2600, executes the designated reproduction process, and proceeds to step S3000. The designated reproduction process will be described later. Further, when the designated reproduction operation is not performed (S2500: NO), control unit 520 proceeds to step S3000 as it is.
By such an operation, the content reproduction apparatus 100 can execute a pause process, a stop process, and a designated reproduction process according to the performed operation.
FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing the pause process.
First, in step S2210, the range determining unit 521 selects a predetermined range based on the operation time as a processing target range. Here, for example, a section from the moment when the pause operation is performed to 0.5 seconds later is set as the processing target range.
Then, the control unit 520 executes the processing of steps S4100 to S7200 in FIG. 3, and in step S8110, continues to play the moving image content up to the determined representative image, and then pauses in a state where the representative image is displayed.
FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram showing a state of excluding another scene in the pause processing.
As shown in FIG. 8, it is assumed that 0.5 seconds after the operation time 711 of the pause operation is determined as the provisional processing target range 712. In this processing target range 712, scene A and scene B continue in this order, and operation time 711 is included in scene A. In this case, the range determination unit 521 excludes the scene B, which is another scene, and determines only the range after the operation time 711 in the scene A as the final processing target range 713.
FIG. 9 is a schematic diagram showing a state in which an image with sound is excluded in the pause process.
As shown in FIG. 9, it is assumed that the processing target range 722 is determined based on the operation time 721 of the pause operation. It is assumed that there are a plurality of candidate images 723 and a section (sounded section) 724 where the uttered speech is present in the processing target range 722. In this case, the image determination unit 522 excludes the candidate image 1 that is an image with sound and leaves the candidate images 2 and 3 that are not images with sound as candidate images. Since candidate image 2 is closer to operation time 721 than candidate image 3, it is determined to be a representative image.
In step S8120 in FIG. 7, the control unit 520 determines whether a still image extraction operation has been performed. The still image cut-out operation is an operation for cutting out a still image from the moving image content, and is, for example, an operation of selecting a predetermined menu item or pressing an option button. If the still image cutting operation has not been performed (S8120: NO), control unit 520 proceeds to step S8130. Control unit 520 proceeds to step S8140 when a still image cutting operation is performed (S8120: YES).
In step S8130, control unit 520 determines whether or not a temporary stop release operation has been performed. When the suspension release operation is not performed (S8130: NO), the control unit 520 returns to step S8120, and when the suspension release operation is performed (S8130: YES), the control unit 520 proceeds to step S8150.
In step S8150, the control unit 520 starts reproduction of the moving image content from the position of the representative image.
On the other hand, in step S8140, the range determination unit 521 selects a predetermined range based on the operation time as the processing target range. Here, for example, a section up to 1 second before and after the moment when the pause operation is performed (pause time) is set as the processing target range.
Then, the control unit 520 performs the processing of steps S4100 to S6000 in FIG. 3 to narrow down candidate images.
In step S8160, the image determination unit 522 displays a list of one or more candidate images that have been narrowed down as representative images.
In step S 8170, the image determination unit 522 receives designation from the user for one or more representative images displayed as a list. Then, when a designation operation is performed on any of the representative images (S8170: YES), the image determination unit 522 proceeds to step S8180.
In step S8180, the control unit 520 accumulates and stores all designated representative images, and starts playing the moving image content from the representative image displayed in step S8110, for example.
By executing such a pause process, the content reproduction apparatus 100 displays an image suitable for viewing in the vicinity of the operation time as a representative image during the pause operation, accepts the user's selection, and selects the selected representative. Images can be cut out and stored. That is, when the user tries to cut out and record an image suitable for viewing, it is possible to save the trouble of searching for the image while checking the image frame by frame.
FIG. 10 is a flowchart showing the stop process.
First, in step S2410, the range determining unit 521 selects a predetermined range based on the operation time as a processing target range. Here, for example, a section of 1 second before the moment when the stop operation is performed is set as the processing target range.
Then, control unit 520 executes the processing of steps S4100 to S7200 in FIG. 3, stores the determined representative image in step S8310, and stops the reproduction of the moving image content.
FIG. 11 is a schematic diagram showing a state of exclusion of another scene in the stop process.
As shown in FIG. 11, it is assumed that one second before the operation time 731 of the stop operation is determined as the temporary processing target range 732. In this processing target range 732, it is assumed that the scene A and the scene B continue in this order, and the operation time 731 is included in the scene B. In this case, the range determination unit 521 excludes the scene A, which is another scene, and determines only the range before the operation time 731 in the scene B as the final processing target range 733.
FIG. 12 is a schematic diagram showing a state of exclusion of an image with sound in the stop process.
As shown in FIG. 12, it is assumed that the processing target range 742 is determined based on the operation time 741 of the stop operation. Then, it is assumed that a plurality of candidate images 743 and a section (sound section) 744 in which uttered speech is present exist in the processing target range 742. In this case, the image determination unit 522 excludes the candidate image 3 that is an image with sound and leaves the candidate images 1 and 2 that are not images with sound as candidate images. Since candidate image 2 is closer to operation time 741 than candidate image 1, it is determined as a representative image.
By executing such a stop process, the content reproduction apparatus 100 can store a representative image suitable for viewing at the time of a stop operation, and can be used for a thumbnail or the like.
FIG. 13 is a flowchart showing the designated playback process.
First, in step S2610, control unit 520 displays a list of representative images stored and stored on the content list screen. This representative image is, for example, a representative image stored in a past stop process.
In step S2620, the control unit 520 receives a designation for the representative image displayed as a list from the user, and when a designation operation is performed on any of the representative images (S2620: YES), the process proceeds to step S2630.
In step S2630, control unit 520 starts reproduction of the moving image content from the position of the representative image.
By executing such designated playback processing, the content playback apparatus 100 can display a list of representative images suitable for viewing and resume playback of moving image content from the representative images. In other words, the user can easily grasp how far he / she has viewed the previous time because images suitable for viewing are displayed as thumbnails of a list of past stop positions.
As described above, according to the present embodiment, an image suitable for viewing can be used as a representative image corresponding to various operations related to reproduction of moving image content.
