Description

"PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS".
Fields of this Patent.
• Protection from the sun during outdoor activities, including leisure. · Provisional camps on beaches and in other outdoor areas. State of the Art.
Every year, hundreds of millions of people practice outdoor activities, especially on the beach.
The practitioners of such activities are aware of the need to protect themselves from the sun rays which, if excessively, cause skin cancer and premature epidermic aging.
However, sunshades that look like camping tents are big, heavy devices which are hard to be transported and assembled or disassembled.
The umbrella-like sunshades are unstable, they cannot stand the wind currents that are typical in the mountains and on the coast and they shelter few people in their shade areas.
Therefore, here is the State of the Art: - camping tents and umbrella-like sunshades and their problems.
Advances brought to the State of the Art by the object of this Patent.
The "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS", object of this Patent, advances the State of the Art with the following innovations:
1. Ergonomic portability - when folded, it is kept in your own beach bag and, due to its very low weight and reduced dimensions, it can be carried by a child;
2. Easy to be used - it is very easy to be assembled by unfolding it and disassembled by folding it and placing it back in your bag to be kept; 3. Design and technologically advanced materials: - optimization of the shape beauty, ergonomics and low cost; the whole set, object of this Patent, is consisted of:
A - Detachable pieces: - 1 bag for keeping and transporting it as well as 3 sticks for fixing it onto sandy soil or ground;
B - Integrated pieces, which form the tent itself:
- 1 flexible arch made of carbon fiber, steel or varied polymers,
- 1 piece of plastic tarpaulin integrated to the aforesaid arch,
- 3 ropes that are integrated to the tent itself, so that, with the aid of the 3 sticks, it can be put up in the position in the place of use,
- 1 rope that is integrated to the tent itself to work as a resource for keeping the tent in the best height and interior space arrangement.
4. Organic design with a structural and functional conception and an aerodynamic concept in a way that uses the force and the preferential direction of the local wind to put it up and to fix it, being that, if so is done, it will be according to the direction the wind blows and it will make it thermally comfortable and airy without suffering the effects of the wind force that tends to displace it from the originally fixed position.
Illustrations and work of the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS", object of this Patent.
Figure 1 is a schematic superior view of the flexible arch (2) of the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1), made of carbon fiber, flexible steel or polymers, which keeps its original shape memory that is a wholly and closed 360° arch.
Figure 2 is a schematic superior view of the flexible arch (2) with the canvas cover (3), which shows its specific shape that is consisted of a polygon formed by the addition of a triangle (3B) and a rectangle (3A) and it is already adapted and fixed to the flexible arch (2) by any proper means.
In Figure 2, we can also see that due to the plastic properties of the materials from which the flexible arches (2) are made of, they take a long cylinder shape with the bottom and the top of a semicircle shape as they receive the canvas cover (3).
Figure 3 is a schematic diagonal view of the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1 ), as it is placed onto the ground, showing the shape taken by the flexible arch (2) and by the rectangle (3A), the canvas cover (3), being that the illustration of the part formed by the triangle (3B) is omitted in this figure in order to facilitate the understanding of the flexibility of the materials and how easily they take their functional shapes which are kept in position due to the tensions imposed by the ropes (4), fixed to the ground by the sticks (5) and by the internal spacer rope (6).
Figure 4 is a schematic front view of the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS"(1 ), in which the final and functional disposition of the elements that constitute it can be seen assembled and fixed onto the ground; in it, we can see the flexible arch (2), highlighting its front part (2A) and its back part (2B), the canvas cover (3), highlighting the shape taken by its rectangular part, rectangle (3A) now turned into a semi-cylinder and the triangular part formed by the triangle (3B), in the back part of the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1), now with its taken shape of a disc sector; we also see the ropes (4) fixed to the ground by the sticks (5) and the internal spacer rope (6).
The "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1 ) must be put up in the chosen place by taking the predominant direction of the local wind into consideration; as its shape is that of a tunnel with its front part open and its back part only partially closed, the winds goes through it and it cools its interior and it does not require side reinforcements over it, so that the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1 ) has a great stability when it is put up and is subject to the wind, which makes it radically functionally different from all the other pieces of equipment that have the same purpose and which are described by the State of the Art.
The definition of the direction of the predominant local wind where it will be put up is easily determined as the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1 ) tends to be orientated in that direction due to the simple fact that it is orientated to the direction that offers the smallest resistance by the effect of the wind blow.
Figure 5 is a schematic superior view of the alterations of the shape of the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1 ) when its disassembly and its folding are begun in order to reduce its size and ensure the ergonomic transportability.
In it, we can see the flexible arch (2) and the canvas cover (3) and it can be noticed that the flexible arch, as its endings are not covered by the canvas cover (3) and turned 180°, they take the shape of a coplanar "8", in which the area (7) where the overlapping of the flexile arch (2) segments take place, turning it into two polygons (7A) and (7B), with a shape that is nearly round, which marks the place where its folding will take place, so that these two circles get overlapped, thus reducing the area of the wholly and closed circle of the flexible arch (2) to half. In this Figure 5 we have purposely omitted the presence of the triangular part of the canvas cover (3), formed by the triangle (3B), the ropes (4) and the internal spacer rope (6) to make it easy to understand the space developments which are the fruit of the possibilities created by the materials and design of the object of this Patent. In Figure 6 we see from a schematic superior view the shape taken by the flexible arch (2) and the rectangular part (3A) of the canvas cover (3), after the operations cited by Figure 5, again, we omitted the triangular part of the canvas cover (3), formed by the triangle (3B), the ropes (4) and the internal spacer rope (6) to make it easy to understand, once such pieces are small and flexible and they settle down by a simple folding of fabrics and ropes over the shape taken by the flexible arch (2) and by the rectangular part (3A) of the canvas cover (3) after the operations cited by Figure 5.
In Figure 7 we see the "PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS" (1) already folded and ready to be kept in the transportation bag (8) that has a side pocket (9) to keep the sticks (5), the handles (10) and it can be fastened with Velcro, zipper or any other proper means.
In Figure 8 we see a perspective side view of the " PORTABLE FOLDABLE SUNSHADE IN THE FORM OF A TENT WITH FRONT AND SIDE OPENINGS " in its operational form that shows the canvas cover (3), the triangle of canvas (3B), support strings (4), stakes (5), the flexible bow (2) and the stretched rectangular portion (3A) of the cover (3) in addition to the internal spacer string (6)
